Reto Berra signed to ELC

As per the Flames website:

http://flames.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8470151

Contract terms: One year entry-level contract at $765,000 per season with an average annual value of $1,381,250 (including entry-level performance bonus).

Zirakzigil 04-17-2013 02:27 PM

Contract is constructed so they can sign one outside ELC constraints. Will be interesting to see how he performs in North America

Now we just need to lock up Ramo and our goaltending is more or less decided for next year.

YMCMBYOLO 04-17-2013 02:34 PM

Not surprised, we all knew this a few weeks back. Just lock up Ramo for 2-3 years and I'll be happy. I'm guessing Ramo would sign for 2-4 million?

He shouldn't get over 2 mil. He is unproven in the NHL.

True but offering a contract that is large enough to get him out of the KHL may need to be inflated somewhat.

Does anyone know his current KHL salary? Might be a good comparable.

KHL doesn't release salaries, we just speculate. I I hope reto proves me wrong though on my status searches tho.

Berra should play in today's game vs Czech (6 hours from now), if you are interested in watching it.

It's unlikely to be on television here :(

SaneQ 05-06-2013 04:22 AM

100 Third Graders 05-06-2013 06:32 AM

Should work for everyone. Swedish TV.

This is the direct swedish TV net stream(better quality) but I think you'll need a Swedish proxy to watch it.

jonas2244 05-15-2013 02:13 PM

3 games played, 93 shots, 4 GA, 95.7% SVS, 1.33 GAA

Doesn't look bad. :) He probably won't get any more games, Gerber will start the quarter and if Swi wins there is no reason to change goalies.

MarkGio 05-15-2013 02:23 PM

I'm excited to watch it!!

The Swedish speak English, right? :sarcasm:

That little smiley at the end of his post means sarcasm.

So we can assume one of this guy will be whether a backup for Kipper or your #1?

Still going to be lots of goalies for Abbotsford next season, but likely none of the ones you list there.

If Kipper retires, it will be a battle for the #1 and #2 spots in CGY between (likely):

1. MacDonald (Just signed a 1 year extension)
2. Ramo (KHL deal done, likely to sign July 5th)
3. Berra (Just acquired in JBO deal, and signed)
4. Brossoit (Just signed an ELC, will be turning pro)
5. Ortio (Rumored to be coming back to NA next fall)

Irving and Taylor are UFA's and liekly done with all of the above goalies in the fold now.
Brust was on an AHL deal, and was behind Taylor on the depth chart....likely done in Flames org now.
