The Rolling Stones would be my guess; they are booking shows right now.

Who else is doing stadium tours this summer? The only 2 I can think of so far are Taylor Swift, and the Legends of Summer (Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake).

EDIT: Now the Stones make sense, in terms of being historic. I'm not even a fan, but I think I'd have to attend the show.

mzappa 04-19-2013 01:08 PM

maybe Stones? McCartney? Springsteen?

Saw McCartney in Edmonton. He was unbelievably good.

It better be Sir Paul.

Taylor Swift is already booked at the new stadium too.

It's McCartney. Being announced in Ottawa on Monday too.

Ottawa Citizen is reporting Live Nation will announce Monday that McCartney to play Scotiabank Place in early July.

Did he do a lot of Beatles tracks? Thinking about buying my mom and dad tickets.

Yeah it was a solid mix of Wings and Beatles. He was also very humble, I was expecting him to have the attitude of "I'm Paul F***ing McCartney" but he so appreciated the crowd and paid homage to Hendrix, George and John. His little anecdotes between songs about his interactions with all of these other stars were also quite entertaining. And the music was fantastic.

His setlist varied slightly by venue, but it can be found here if you don't mind knowing going in. I'd imagine it would be a similar setlist in Winnipeg.

winterpeg 04-19-2013 02:13 PM

I wish it was Foo Fighters, but I'd be in line quick for tickets to see Paul, too.

Thank you very much for this info. Looks like I'll be scooping up tickets for my folks.

I truly laughed out loud. :handclap:

Sir Paul McCartney would be awesome to see live! Add to the repertoire of concerts I've been too including Roger Waters (twice), Robert Plant, Kiss, U2, AC/DC, Rain - Beatles Tribute, Queen - Itsa Kinda Magic (Queen Tribute), Lenny Kravitz, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, DIO, etc the list goes on.

I can't wait for this one!

that's an extensive list. mine concentrates mostly on early nineties Lollapalooza type bands back in the day (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Ministry, etc.) and the Grateful Dead and bands that opened for them (Sting, The Band, Bob Dylan, Indigo Girls, Cracker) and some other stuff thrown in. More recently, some of the same stuff you mentioned... Roger Waters (Dark Side and The Wall), Robert Plant, U2, The Who, Eric Clapton. I do remember seeing Sepultura and Helmet open for Ministry at Maple Leaf Gardens many many years ago. Some crazy **** there. Saw Dylan opening for Paul Simon too. Simon was great. and Ice T at the Trasheteria in Guelph, Ontario! When you're treated to a good show, the live experience is truly awesome. Like a good Jets game.

Being there >>> TV
