2014 Draft Thread

Tank for Circles Jr.! :yo:

Liberati0n 04-22-2013 06:16 PM

Clearly they just put this year's tank on hold so they could use it for him.

Clearly. As soon as Mahoney found out Circles had been reborn again he told McPhee to have Ovechkin start playing again and tank next year.

Carlzner 04-22-2013 06:30 PM

Let's not draft him.

But he can skate in circles like his dad!

californiacapsfan 04-29-2013 07:03 PM

EDIT: Sorry ... not for an hour yet. TSN just covering it like it's the actual draft.

Well I got that all wrong. Sorry folks. Blame Comcast. Said it started at 6 pacific.

Liberati0n 04-29-2013 07:08 PM

(Be a) bystander (to the playoffs) for Nylander.

Meander for Nylander.

Bad for Ekblad.

Down for McKeown.

Fall apart for Reinhardt.

Langway 08-12-2013 06:13 PM

If anyone really wants some hockey to watch user DrPabloRamirez posted three games he shot from the recently completed U18 Ivan Hlinka Tournament. Included are the aforementioned Nylander, Ekblad and McKeown along with Sam Bennett, Spencer Watson, Jake Virtanen, Michael Dal Colle, Nick Schmaltz, Jared McCann, Haydn Fleury, Robby Fabbri, Brayden Point and more. Team rosters here. Also starring Dale Hunter behind Canada's bench.

I have a mancrush on Draisatl. Kid is so much fun to watch.

Yeah, a special player for sure. I might even rank him first overall.

Early on it looks like it may shape up to be a very forward-rich first round.

SimplySensational 09-26-2013 02:13 PM

Saw Jack Glover, saw he shot left handed, then noticed that was typo. Damn!

fedfed 09-26-2013 02:29 PM

So far one player that stands out just from Reading is C Alexis Pepin (Charlottetown, QMJHL). Projected for 2nd round by most, 6'2", 238 lbs.

Also in the same category: 6'3", 225 lbs C Alex Tuch.

Langway 09-26-2013 02:48 PM

Sam Bennett's another guy I really like....strong motor, skilled and an agitator. This class is pretty heavy on lefty wingers overall, though, and it's not much of a need should Kuznetsov come over and Burakovsky has a big year.

As far as potential LD fits go Fleury & Martin bring a lot to the table. In the neverending center watch I like McCann.

Early on it seems like a decent enough crop but given the pipeline and overall circumstances it might be a year to move their first in a package for a non-rental 2LD (assuming they're highly competitive).

I think C is an obvious need.

Fedfed, what's up with Mironov? I believe he is again eligible for this draft like Walker.

Langway 10-18-2013 12:06 PM

October ISS rankings.

Reinhart, Dal Colle, Draisaitl, Bennett & Ritchie all seem like solid fits up front. Perhaps McCann, Bleackley & Perlini as well.

Sorry just saw it now, he signed a big extension with Dynamo, don't think anyone will take a flyer on him.

fedfed 10-18-2013 12:37 PM

Would love it if Caps got Ritchie. Yeah, it means missing the playoffs but still. Would be fin to watch on the line with Wilson.

Capitlols 10-18-2013 01:03 PM

Any defensive Dmen that can step in immediately in the top 4(outside of Ekblad)?

No. It looks pretty weak for D overall. As mentioned, Fleury & Martin are likely the best LD fits at this point.

Burakovsky95 10-18-2013 03:21 PM

No clue where we'll be drafting lol. I like Draisiatl and Ritchie. If we end picking where we usually have by the end of the year I like Ho-Sang, Vrana, Fleury, Tuch.

NobodyBeatsTheWiz 10-18-2013 08:36 PM

So which Euro winger is George targeting this year?
