#2 C to Dallas

With Dallas likely not pursuing Derek Roy or Mike Ribeiro this offseason, there is a gap at 2nd line center. Who's available and for what price?

Untouchables: Benn,Lehtonen, Dillon and Oleksiak

Edit: While I don't have Eriksson as untouchable, it'd have to be a pretty nice deal in order to move him.

Vankiller Whale 04-23-2013 04:35 PM

Weiss?

oconnor9sean 04-23-2013 04:37 PM

He wouldn't be a terrible option in the FA market, but who knows how he'll play after the injury.

Conan 04-23-2013 04:41 PM

grabovski ?

Gagner .... maybe if we can get that big 2 C we are after . I think Gagner fits better in Dallas with Benn playing in front of him . Benn can take the tougher assignments

What's the price for Gagner?

Mr Misty 04-23-2013 05:21 PM

It makes much more sense to either sign Filpula/Weiss or sit tight with Fiddler and Eakin than to give up assets for Gagner or anybody else.

hattrick3518 04-23-2013 05:24 PM

Eriksson is the better player and has a beautiful contract while Stastny's deal is atrocious.

All the more reason to pass. Eriksson's locked up long term.

I would do it for Eakin+Daley+2nd.

Could exchange the 2nd for Bachman; I am not familiar with your goaltending depth.

That has been debated on the Oilers boards and in other trades . Myself i think he worth a 1st in this draft around the 10 to 15 range , but value is a funny thing . It can be much higher to one team and not so much to the next .
What would you offer ? Our needs are bigger players with grit , D

Pavelski + Pittsburg's 2nd for Chiasson + your 2013 1st?

This is interesting. I'd absolutely HATE to trade Chiasson but Pavelski would be a great fit.

Our pick is going to most likely be in the 12-17 range, and since we have potentially Boston's first rounder this year, I'd part with our first this year for Gagner.

Eriksson is better than Stastny by himself so unless Colorado is adding it is a non-starter.

Haha I mean, he did say +/- so we could - Stastny and + Duchene. Lol

Does Dallas ave a future #2 Center coming up the system likely in play by 14-15 season thus needing only a short term solution?

Or do you need a long term solution?

trade market would be Gagner and Grabo

UFAs: Roy, Riberio, Weiss, and Tim Connolly (buried in Toronto, UFA after season).

In terms of short term options would be Stasny.

Richards could be a cap buyout.

Schenn Bros Pizza* 04-23-2013 05:39 PM

Would you guys trade him at next years deadline when you're in a playoff race?

Radek Faksa projects to be an excellent #2 C, and he is the long term plan, I think. But if they wanted a guy to come in right now, yet still be long term, Faksa would become expendable, IMO.

Eakin is 3+ years younger and has found a role with Dallas. Eakin is a mere 13 points behind Gagner while playing 4+ less minutes a game than Gagner. Daley and a 3rd or 4th round pick would probably get it done but not a 2nd.

Pavelski is a bubble team's 1C, or a contender's elite 2C. He is a true competitor and proven playoff performer. We would hate to lose him. The one game I saw Chiasson, I was thinking "Boy, am I glad they will be in a different division next year" Kid has potential. I think Pavelski + Pitt 2nd for Chiasson + Dal 1st would make both team's better (Sharks would be better in a year or two, Dallas immediately, as Pavelski is currently the better player).

We have a deal , provide we can draft a big 2 C that can step right in or get a short term fix until our drafted 2 C is ready . Fax the paper work
