Yeo will be watching tonight's Columbus-Dallas game on TV. Zach Parise will not, but he will keep tabs on it. Both of them stressed that the Wild must remained focused on its own business. Even if it gets that playoff berth via a Columbus loss, there is still plenty at stake. Yeo said the Wild must treat Friday's game as a must-win, and Parise said it is important for the Wild to be at its best.
Wild practice: Pominville absent, Rupp present and a good mood all around

Fel you are indeed the master of quotes, and links in general.

I'm guessing the Wild are going to rest Pommer the remaining 2 games just to be sure they have him for the playoffs. If we lose the next game, and the last game is a must win scenario, they might be tempted, but I think they are going to try their best to make due till playoff time before turning him loose again just to be sure.

Just my thoughts on it. I was glad to see Russo say he bumped into Poms and he said he was feeling ok. Thats awesome news!

Jarick 04-25-2013 05:00 PM

Okay doesn't mean 100% per se. And Yeo said he was day-to-day.

If he is symptom free, I'd think you sit him a couple days just to make sure nothing comes on delayed. Then you have him work out and see if anything comes up. Ramp up the intensity. If nothing happens after a couple days of that, you're probably good to go.

That would be really surprising, but I guess it happened with Zucker. Still, he didn't look nearly as bad as Pom did.

Either way, I wouldn't have Poms playing at all during the regular season.

Karl 04-25-2013 05:10 PM

No question you don't play Pominville for the rest of the reagular season. This team should be good enough to beat the Oilers and Avalanche without him. If he can play the Wild will n eed him as close to 100% as he can get

I don't think that's what happened. I think Poms walked right into Russo, actually. We need to ask Kings fans to clarify that for us :sarcasm:

The Wild can clinch a playoff spot with a victory over the Edmonton Oilers, who are 1-9-0 in their past 10 games, Friday night at the X. The Wild also plays at Colorado on Saturday night.

If the Wild wins out and the Sharks get a point, the Wild would finish seventh.

If the Wild wins one and the Red Wings lose Saturday, the Wild would finish seventh.

If the Wild wins one and the Red Wings win Saturday, the Wild finishes eighth.

If the Wild loses out and the Jackets get one point Saturday, the Wild is eliminated.

If the Wild loses out and the Jackets lose Saturday, the Wild finishes eight.
Blue Jackets live to see another day; Wild victory over Edmonton clinches playoff berth

cant wait until 9 pm

Avder 04-26-2013 12:31 AM

9pm?

Oh wait, just saw your location. Brazil? One hour ahead of eastern time then I take it? Atlantic time zone or something?

Billy Mays Here 04-26-2013 12:31 AM

While it is almost as sure a thing as you can get, I don't even wanna see everyone's reactions (including my own) if we somehow manage to lose to Edmonton.

Stopping Pucks 04-26-2013 12:32 AM

Hopefully we have Pominville in the playoffs and it isn't going to be terrible. On the bright side, Pominville being hurt could make our players play harder.

Billy Mays Here 04-26-2013 12:34 AM

Even if we win Friday and clinch our playoff spot, I won't be celebrating anything until I see us beat Colorado Saturday and clinch that 7th (6th if San Jose loses to LA in regulation) seed.

Hopefully he sits today and tomorrow and will be ready for Game 1 on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Remember all that negativity that was going to generate a rant when I was expecting a loss to the Kings? Yeah that's still there, ready and waiting to go. So, at least I'll have some entertainment for you in that unfortunate event.

Stopping Pucks 04-26-2013 12:36 AM

Edmonton and Colorado are totally winnable games. They have no purpose to even try and win, they are now going for the draft pick. How we play against them will show the future of this team in the playoffs.

Billy Mays Here 04-26-2013 12:39 AM

Surprised at how many people on the main board actually want us to miss the playoffs. Would've thought a team that hadn't made it in four years would appeal to them. It's probably the "Columbus deserves it" effect.

I'm sure the Parise and Suter signings have something to do with it also

I'm not surprised when there were even Wild fans who were hoping that just a while ago.
