No - Jones is exactly what the Avs need so unless you're ready to give up Hamilton that's not even close to cutting it.

Fire Sweeney 04-29-2013 07:38 PM

Jones is a bust, I'd only trade Subban for him.

Freudian 04-29-2013 07:41 PM

Even though MacKinnon is going to be a phenomenal player I don't think this is even a choice for Avs. Jones is a perfect fit in every possible way.

There is no way they're trading that pick.

JuicyJ* 04-29-2013 07:42 PM

Well...... There'll be one for at least every team. Glad we could get it out the the way early

Who we'll get at #32 will be interesting. There are a lot of hard working two-way forwards projected in that area of the draft. That's right in Pracey's wheelhouse.

Be a better fit if he was left handed. Curious what they will do there.

Barrie, Johnson, Elliot and Jones are all right handed.

You should still take Jones, but curious which of these guys hits the market.

Probably Barrie.

- Can't trade new guy Jones.
- Can't trade Johnson, former #1 pick... plus he has an awesome contract
- Trade Barrie instead of Elliott because a. Barrie would get a better retrun, and b. Avs still have Elliott's former Saskatoon Blades defenseman partner in Duncan Siemens (11 Overall last year, LH).

Jones has played the Left side before, and will probably be there for the Avs.

Jones - Johnson will likely make up our top pairing going forward.

One of Elliott or Barrie might be on the block though.

There are plenty of lefties playing the right side. I wouldn't be surprised to see Barrie being able to play on the left.

Yep. I would hate to see Barrie go, I think he's gonna be a stud but he seems like the likely choice.

We could probably package Barrie + our 2nd for a pretty good forward if we wanted to.

Jones - Johnson
Siemens - Elliott

As the future Dcore.

I'd have to think this starts with Dougie Hamilton, with Boston adding quite a bit. As much as I like Dougie, I like Seth much, much more.

Pass. Avs need Jones a lot more then they need Yakupov.

Personally also not the biggest fan of Yakupov. Don't think he'll amount to be a star in the league.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Yakupov is, unfortunately, going to be a phenomenal player.
Avs do need an elite winger, but need D a lot more. Pass.

You must be kidding, Colorado takes that deal and runs.

Maybe once the euphoria of winning the lottery wears off we're more likely to think clearly, but right now I wouldn't even consider it.

In a few days or weeks, Yakupov+Nurse/Ristolainen might be more tempting.
