Now all they need is an owner willing to spend money and a GM who can actually make a trade.

They can hire any coach they want, that defense makes the Oilers look like an Olympic team.

Bummer CBC, real bummer.

CBC streams all their broadcasts live too.

What's up with the coverage? I don't remember a time where a game wasn't being broadcasted on TV. CBC takes two games on night 1 of the SC playoffs even though they're on at the same time? What gives? Normally if there were two games being played at the same time, one broadcaster would take one of the games, the second broadcaster would take the other game.

And I get that CBC says it's being streamed on their website, but that's not convenient for me. I'd rather switch channels between the games I want to watch rather than have to use a PC and TV. And their site currently says "content is unavailable" for the MIN-CHI game.

St. Louis is dominating LA.

Minnesota is winning, but Chicago looks like the stronger team. It's like Minnesota is in a shell, and it's working. It's just a matter of time until they break down though. I think Minnesota might pull this game out, but Chicago will dominate the series.

We'd be getting eaten alive if we were playing one of these teams. Such a physical game.

Can someone explain to me why the hell the Chicago game is blacked out in Western Canada but is available in Ottawa?

I could've sworn Chicago and Minnesota were in the Western Conference... Maybe it's just me.

s7ark 04-30-2013 08:04 PM

I made this the new Around the League thread, playoff edition.

Oilception 04-30-2013 08:06 PM

Loving St. Louis so far. I'm cheering for them to go far.

Also as others have stated what sorta joke is it we just don't get to watch the Chicago minny game?

fysloc 04-30-2013 08:08 PM

I'm hoping for minnesota to upset chicago simply because my hockey pool depends on it. Go longshot teams ottawa and minnesota!

Philly85 04-30-2013 08:16 PM

Lol **** Minnesota. Hope they get crushed.

Philly85 04-30-2013 08:19 PM

Penner looks like he's skating in quicksand.

It's not blacked out it's just not in HD, WPG CBC is showing the Hawks/Wilds game.

Stl looks like a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs what a game for them so far. There fourth like with cracknell and reaves has been unbelievably physical. Shows me how far we really have to go to be an elite team. This game has to be one of the most entertaining I've seen in a long while

I was in favour of bringing him back, but no player that slow can be an effective NHLer anymore. He looks done.

Their 4th line alone would completely dominate a series against the Oil. Scary/sad to think that. Blues are all over LA in this game though. Quick has really kept the Kings in it, pretty awesome performance so far. I know a lot of people here strongly dislike Brown, as do I, but I like the Kings in general for some reason and hope they're able to bounce back.

timekeep 04-30-2013 09:37 PM

Wild and Hawks going to OT?

Philly85 04-30-2013 09:39 PM

Penner has his best shift of the game. LA with a push...

Del Preston 04-30-2013 09:40 PM

I hate Barret Jackman but that was awesome. Blocks a slapshot and then hammers Stoll into the boards a second later.

And then doesn't sell out and deflects a shot into his own net

OilerTyler 04-30-2013 09:45 PM

Hopefully St Louis can pull out a win in overtime. They've been outplaying LA all night.

s7ark 04-30-2013 09:45 PM

2 OT games so far tonight?

LA ties it in dramatic fashion with 30ish seconds left in the 3rd. I know LA isn't the popular choice, but you'll all have to excuse me if I buck that trend and cheer for them. Familial obligations and all that.

I'm pulling for the blues in this series and the playoffs it would be nice to see a team like them put together a good run. If they keep playing like they have tonight they should be able to go along way. With that said though quick is on another level tonight and he is the type of goalie that can steal a series.

Gotta think Anaheim is just going to roll Detroit.
