Solving Anderson

I beleive this guy is on his game but the Habs are letting him stay on his game.
The real story should be quality chances and not shots. I say 75% of shots taking on him have been in the chest area and blocker side. Letting him feel the puck early like we have only builds his confidence. Max is a good exemple of what not to do vs a hot goalie.
One thing I did notice, he's also has the refs on his side compared to Price. Quick stop of the play by the ref. They have been crashing the net on Price and not one goalie interference. Also wen Anderson went down from the shot to the mask, the ref wislle the play instanly and Price gets knock down and the play goes on and on.
Gionta has to talk to the lines men and ref to make sure they call the game even from a goalies point of view. Maybe its time for Bergevin to talk to the league, not to compane but rather to let them know he's involve and paying attention.

MooseOllini 05-06-2013 12:04 PM

He was the factor on game 1, but besides that, game 2 we won and yesterday half our ''skilled'' forwards (Ryder, Pacioretty, Desharnais, Gionta are either injured or not insipired enough to give a damn to play therefore giving Anderson no challenge.

The only answer I can give you is play like game 2 and hope he won't be like game 1 :)

Figaro95 05-06-2013 12:05 PM

crash the net, make his life hell, and if your going to take a goalie interference make it count.

otto bond 05-06-2013 12:07 PM

We get it but the forwards on our team don't. They are looking for the perfect shot or the nice goal or something.

WeThreeKings 05-06-2013 12:07 PM

Capitalize on his ****** rebound control.

M.C.G. 31 05-06-2013 12:08 PM

Just crash the net and make it difficult for him. It worked in game 2.

ClasslessGuy 05-06-2013 12:08 PM

Send Gionta! But don't aim at his teeth

BudMovin* 05-06-2013 12:09 PM

Have you tried garlic or putting a stake through his heart?

Galchenyuk4habs 05-06-2013 12:10 PM

Gionta and Patches need to sit, send in the mentality and players of game 2. Simple as that, theses perimeter players won't learn in a million years to crash the net.

With only Gallagher going to the net, it's gonna be hard. Bourque has done it a too with Prust but no one else. I say we get someone who bearly can skate so that once parked there, he don't moves. We also have to clear our crase for Price.

He does look like a blood sucker

Gary320 05-06-2013 12:13 PM

Crash the net. Simple as that. Most of our shots have been easy to stop... since they'll come from the blue line...

We don't even have to crash the net. Have at least one forward in the slot or around the net. I saw so many plays - and patches is real guilty of this - where they carry the puck towards the net and then pass it and go for a skate around the net instead of stopping at the net.

This times a million. He gives up such huge rebounds, it's a tragedy we haven't capitalized yet.

Can't do that when you have small, soft players that do not want to go to the dirty areas. They also have very big dmen who do a good job of boxing out.

It's an absolute shame that a 5'7 170lb rookie has more balls than damn near everyone on the team. Gally, Prust and Bourque are the only guys that go to the net. There's a reason why we always struggle in the playoffs. Not enough guys willing to pay the price. Too many regular season stars.

/rant.

Bench Gionta again. He's exactly the type of player that is never going to score on Anderson.

EVERY goal scored on anderson has been either in the slot or within 5 feet of the blue paint...guys need to rattle him

He tracks the puck TOO EASILY since there is no traffic

I believe his game is perfect for the way the Senators play. They don't give that much time to the shooter and close gaps very fast. Even with Anderson's average rebound control, the team in front of him closes time and space so well that the rebound shot never comes. Habs have to find a way to create more time for themselves and start sniping instead of always shooting on the darn goalie and hoping for a rebound.

Seb 05-06-2013 12:42 PM

Anderson is playing damn good right now but our forwards are playing like a bunch of girls it's depressing. They might outshot the sens all they want, most of these shots are failed attempts. You see the Sens having lot's of scoring chances, and the habs barely having any.

Bingo.

If we don't do it, some team will like Philly eventually did to us with Halak.

29dryden29 05-06-2013 12:49 PM

As a goalie myself I say RUN him hard and put him on his ass.

Exactly. The only way to score playoff goals (especially in the later rounds - if we are going to be playing in them).

This could work as well lol

Pacio and Gionta need to sit. These 2 guys completely changed the way the team plays in 1 game.

Both useless.

Price My Man Crush 05-06-2013 01:12 PM

What if Plekanec didn't missed the open net yesterday?

That's how you score goals baby.
