Where is Killer Carlson? Where is Trottier? REUNION THREAD

I would think that they could make a guest appearance/post in light of how our team is playing?

God knows, it could change at any moment --

malPHONEY 05-06-2013 03:25 PM

A message board made them renounce their fanships?

I texted with Killer a bit before the game yesterday. He is very much enjoying this and he is with us in spirit. :yo:

OlTimeHockey 05-06-2013 03:29 PM

My Oija board says Trottier wants to see tighter defense. Oh, he's alive and well, but I didn't know who else to ask.

"Captain Howdy" says Crosby's a wuss.

my guess is always "prison, prison" in such instances.

Killer Carlson: probably for beating a man at, say, Walmart, possibly over the last pack of Corn Flakes when they were on sale. Aggravated assault, threats, etc., he'll be out by Brooklyn.

Trottier: self-proclaimed more lover than fighter, probably wrongfully accused but the judge saw right through his "narratives" in cross-examination, then contempt of court, he'll be out by Brooklyn.

Let me know if I'm right. Lottery is next.

Killer Carlson is on Twitter with the same handle. Definitely miss him on here.

People move on. It's the nature of the world.

Let's not pile on them. Both were intelligent and thoughtful contributors.

As I've only been on the Boards for a bit over a year, can anyone fill me in on this?

There were some dark times on these boards as years of Mibury abuse followed by the rebuild and Wang's tight fistedness made many a member become pessimistic and nihilistic. Some chose to depart than continue to involve themselves in such discourses.

Killer was a good member that had his fill of things and decided to lay back. As far as I know he is still a member, just not active.

Trotts was a polarizing figure and he eventually left for the Devils once he reached the tipping point.

Dutch Frost 05-06-2013 04:12 PM

Nothing beats the dark days on the AOL message boards with Milbury. It was depressing every day:shakehead

GilliesGirlie 05-06-2013 04:13 PM

KC is one of the good guys!! So is Trottier, even though he jumped ship!

Twine Seeking Missle 05-06-2013 04:30 PM

Killer was one of the best. Always my favorite poster.

Trotts... well respected by many but an abrasive 'youknowwhat' much of the time. Just telling it like it is. He really jumped ship though? I didn't know this. Wonder if he is regretting it right about now. I myself was close to jumping on with the Devils but that was after the vote failed and I really thought the team was moving to KC, QC, Seattle, etc. Once the Brooklyn move was announced I couldn't imagine doing such a thing. If it's actually true he did that... wow. That's quite surprising.

Not pertaining to these members, but my brother used to post here by the name of Tom Liodice. Did you guys know him well?

Renbarg 05-06-2013 06:50 PM

Good riddance to Trots. I have no respect for someone who jumps ship like that. I hope the Devils go on a ten year playoff-less run just so that he is more miserable.

nyscene 05-06-2013 07:10 PM

Trots only has one post in the past year. Its too bad. Despite his sometimes rough personality, I liked Trots. Very knowledgable. Hope he is well & enjoying this season somewhere.

If I recall correctly, Snow claiming Grabner was the final straw for Trots.

What about Darth Milbury? Hasn't been around here in a long while.

Nope, different people. Darth Milbury hasn't really been on the board since JT's rookie year.

TROLLPOSO 05-06-2013 07:54 PM

There are a bunch of posters who were on the more pessimistic side who disappeared save Old Time Hockey. Every board needs a curmudgeony realist. ;)

i remember that name, he wa s agood poster from what i can recall.

Trottier was....i think polarizing is the best way to describe it. Definitely knew his ****, but the way he said it came across as 'if you had ANY idea you wouldnt be disagreeing with me'. Had a few tiffs with him over the years before he left to go to the devils. Its just the way he posted just sounded so condescending even if he didnt mean for it to come across that way. Still, would like to see him back as, like i mentioned, he definitely knew his ****.
