Your Teams Need This Offseason & Players Available
I thought this would be interesting to see what each team needs and could help people come up with trade proposals. And who can be dealt from each team this offseason.
2 Top 6 Wingers
Good 3C that can win draws.
Players that can be dealt:
Alexander Edler D
Alexander Burrows W
Corey Schneider/Robero Luongo
Kevin Bieksa(NTC Though)
Any Dman not named Fayne,Greene,Larsson.
9th Overall Pick
1 Top pair d-man
1 bottom pair veteran d-man
1 big two way center (2nd-3rd liner)
3 bottom six forwards (1 center, 2 wingers) with size who can play every night and actually care about winning.
1 backup goalie who can push Dubnyk and play 30 or so games a year if needed.
Top Line Offensive Scoring Threat
(Anybody for right price is available)
For the Wild (imo anyway):
Top-4 D. Definitely our biggest need. Suter and Brodin have been phenomenal but the rest of our d-corps... Ugh. We need some serious help here. We have plenty of bottom pairing guys but are lacking in true top-4 talent.
Scoring winger. We've had our share of scoring problems, Pierre-Marc Bouchard likely won't be resigned so it'd be a good idea to add a skilled winger who could help our streaky offense. Adding Pominville at the deadline goes a long way towards this though.
2C. Some Wild fans might not agree but I'd prefer us to have a stronger 2nd line C to slide Cullen back to the third line. Not a necessity though.
(Starting G?) I'm pretty sure we resign Bäckström (and we definitely should), but in case we don't, we would need a new goalie. This is unlikely though.
Cal Clutterbuck. I'd be sad to see him go but he'll likely demand more money from us than we could afford and some fans think we could use him as a trade bait.
Falk/Prosser. Quite similar players, your average bottom-pairing Ds. We don't need them both.
Clayton Stoner. He's just been brutal. Please take him. Cam Barker -bad. Seriously. We could give you a signed Parise jersey too if you took him?
I know that our filling our needs would require more significant players moving away from us than those listed but some of our players are in a kind of a flux regarding their roster position so I'm hesitant to declare any others available.
A head coach that isn't already in the system - Lindy Ruff or Patrick Roy would be nice
A full time goalie coach
2nd-3rd pairing D upgrades
1st line C
1st line RW
1st line LW
Player that can be dealt:
Top pairing RHD
Top 6 winger
Player I see as being available:
Hiller/Fasth (I can see one of them being moved but not likely)
Top 4 LHD
2nd line center (if Ribeiro not retained)
Veteran back-up goalie (if Neuvirth dealt)
Brooks Laich (unlikely)
Defensive prospects (Orlov, Kundratek, Schilling, Schmidt, Wey, Carrick)
Rights to Mike Ribeiro
Available: 1st round pick, depending on the return maybe Nino or Grabner
Kings are in an interesting spot as Scuderi, Regher, Richardson, Fraser and Penner's contracts are up but they will need to replace them either internally or with cheap free agent options. Also is Willie Mitchell done? Do they re-sign Scuds or Regher or both? They really need a 2nd line LW. Toffoli is in the wings but is a natural rw.
Potentially the Kings could move Bernier, Stoll, Muzzin, Martinez and players like King for upgrades.
As I see the roster next season
Just a guess. I expect some big changes to the Kings roster at the draft though.
Top 4 RH Defensman (preferablly a topline guy to play with Phaneuf)
2nd Line Center with Size
Players that can be dealt:
Everything but LWers
I would say everyone for the right deal but realistically everyone but Brodie, Giordano & Baertschi
The subtraction of Tyler Kennedy. Then we good.
-Young, skilled wingers
-Placeholder center (veteran, at least above average to good defensively)
-Veteran top 6 d-man so our only defenders over age 25 aren't Sekera, Ehrhoff, and fringe NHLers (leadership would be nice)
Could be dealt:
-Almost anyone. In order to move some of the young guys, the deal would probably need to be youth for youth or some kind of overpayment, but realistically most players on this roster should be movable for the right deal. Unlikely to be moved are prospects and players RR/DR have tagged as "veteran leaders" that will help the younger players mature.
A top 6 center (Ribeiro, Bozak, Roy, Weiss)
A physical bottom 6 player. (Clowe, Nystrom)
A top 4 physical defenseman. (Ference, Murray)
Cammalleri or Tanguay
#3 center (may be filled via draft)
#4 physical defenseman
retooled, more physical bottom 6
Youth at forward
A young PPQB
Joe Thornton (if he'll waive)
Maybe one of Demers/Braun/Irwin
Only real untouchables are Couture, Hertl, Burns, and probably Vlasic.
thats a interesting view of the kings im thinking a little different
a cheap 2nd line lw ( althou pearson could be promoted from within)
A cheap backup goalie ( if bernier is traded)
1st in this draft
2nd in 14 and 15
one of ellerby muzzin martinez
king or Nolan
Stoll (only if slava is going to cost alot )
prospects not named jones forbert toffoli vey possible
Hurricanes needs: Your best players.
Available: Jamie McBain
Hurricanes needs: Depth scoring on cheap contracts, 1 top 4 defender.
Available: Jamie McBain, Tuomo Ruutu
For the right price: 5th overall, Jeff Skinner.
Leafs will get David Clarkson.
Top pairing defenseman, RHD prefered
Top six center (2)
Prospect D man or two
-First Pairing Defenceman
-#2 Center ( or a 2/3C tweener to alternate playing time with Cody Eakin)
-#1 Center (if we got a 1 & 2 C then Benn could go back to the wing)
-Top 6 Winger (not a need as much as a C, just would be nice to push Cole into a bottom six role)
-Top 4 D (one of Robidas/Daley/Goligoski will likely be moved before the start of next year to make room for the prospects)
-Top 6 winger prospect (Smith/Fraser/Chaisson/Ritchie/Stransky to acquire a top 6 center or top pairing D through trade)
Edit: dang you Hull Fan beat me to the punch
