Alain Vigneault - The Watch Begins.

Last thread was over 1,000.

Continue.

Eddy Punch Clock 05-08-2013 11:51 AM

First in the last AV thread!

Spamhuis 05-08-2013 11:53 AM

I think boucher fits Gillis' philosophy but maybe he doesn't want to come here... certainly he would fit our d-core and goaltending makeup.

The pool of coaches is slim and I'm told @GMMikeGillis knows that. Firing Alain Vigneault may not be prudent. #NHL

Umm.... help... Ruff is out there, and there could/will be others depending on playoff series outcomes

Al Swearengen 05-08-2013 11:53 AM

So, since I didn't really get in on the last thread, who are the popular frontrunners?
Ruff? Whoelse?

Gillis wants a offensive exciting team, since when does that match with Boucher's coaching style?

Eddy Punch Clock 05-08-2013 11:56 AM

Are there any coaches currently in the playoffs that might be getting fired if their team doesn't meet expectations? I can't think of one right now.

Gimme a break. Gillis should go with AV.

Mr. Canucklehead 05-08-2013 11:57 AM

I would take anything Garrioch says with an iceberg-sized grain of salt.

There are some good candidates, but yes, there will be some demand.

EpochLink 05-08-2013 11:59 AM

If Gillis doesn't have the balls to fire AV...

Aquilini should step in a fire both of them, incompetent management

pahlsson 05-08-2013 11:59 AM

i have a feeling we'll "watch" AV get another year

Take a good look at the Bolts blueline (forget the iffy goaltending). You can't expect the forwards to go "end to end" on every shift.

Grub 05-08-2013 12:02 PM

Wow hopefully Garrioch is just talking out of his..

Gillis needs to be fired as well as AV.

Aquilini needs to do the right thing. I hope he realizes that this style of play is not selling tickets. Revenue have dropped significantly this year. Look at the tv ratings.

Since Boucher started coaching. His Q and AHL teams were the highest scoring every season. His NHL teams finished Top 5-10.

High-event, high-risk, up-tempo game. People really don't understand the relevance of the 1-3-1 system.

Grub 05-08-2013 12:03 PM

Anyone know if any press conference is scheduled? Gillis needs to take serious accountability here, he better not run to his hometown like last year AV.

Tiranis, could you explain to a layman what "1-3-1" means?

I have questions about Aqua as well and his level of involvement in the team. Last thing we need is an Ed Schneider.

Haven't seen much of Gillis in this post-season; perhaps his mug is on the back of a milk carton?

I mean, you might expected *some* reaction to the awful officiating (didn't have any *real* bearing on the series outcome - though they DID give game 4 to the Sharks - still we would've still lost the series eventually).

I think MacTavish leaving may have put a dent in the plans... Give AV the time, and when his time runs out, MacT steps in...

Orca Smash 05-08-2013 12:05 PM

I like boucher, I also like eakins.

Would be good to see either one.

Win One Before I Die 05-08-2013 12:05 PM

Is Ruff still available?

That just puts the heat on Gillis. If we waits until AV falters (good chance given our history of often having slow/medicore starts to the season) - Gillis might find himself out of a job as well.

This guy breaks it down in detail:

tl;dw: it's not just sitting back at the blueline and clogging the neutral zone 3-wide.
