So MAF is in net for the Islanders tonight I see...

Benedict Parisechuk 05-09-2013 07:38 PM

Murray is doing his best Salvador impersonation right now. I had a feeling the goalie switch would ignite the Pens. Honestly, I'd be surprised if we saw Fleury again in the playoffs.

Status Quo* 05-09-2013 07:40 PM

That 2nd goal Nabokov gave up was absolutely atrocious.

Swatted it into his own net. It was a real Fleury type crap goal.

Benedict Parisechuk 05-09-2013 07:46 PM

Yea even though the Isles have played great for the last month, Nabokov gives up some REALLY strange goals rather frequently. He makes me nervous.

Traitor Zach 05-09-2013 07:59 PM

I would not be surprised if they started transitioning away from Nabokov as soon as next season. Wouldn't stun me if they looked at Bernier from LA maybe in a trade, although I thought they were more keen on developing that Poulin/Nilsson tandem eventually.

Bleedred 05-09-2013 08:03 PM

I think they take back trash can Rick next year.:sarcasm:

Speaking of Dipietro the Grouch, I just saw this on twitter:

Happy Gilmore ‏@_Happy_Gilmore 10m

Rick Dipietro just tried to send Evgeni Nabokov a "Don't Worry" text but he broke his finger. Out indefinitely till 2016.

Nabokov pulled for the 2nd time in the series. Both these team's starters are trash.

I don't even think Nabokov was that bad. That second goal was a joke, but the Islanders crap defense is finally getting exposed. That defense is a joke. Their team defense is a joke.

Haha Hickey the number 1 D!

Peace out Montreal

NJDevs26 05-09-2013 08:19 PM

I can't take Nabokov seriously considering all his problems in San Jose after mid-April.

Hooray for the big, fat walrus

Yea that big, fat walrus is probably getting the Jack Adams and his team is gonna be a powerhouse relatively soon. Nice one Prust

He's been bad all series. Goalies have to make saves. That's their job. Seeing the rubbish that gets to play in goal for some of these teams has made me appreciate Brodeur a bit more (despite all of his warts he himself has at this point with age, injury, diminished athleticism). Doesn't change my feelings though on our need to start transitioning to the next goalie, but still, there's a clear issue with talent/quality with some of these goalies in the NHL.

I'm surprised by your opinion since you are usually one to jump on a goalie pretty good, but maybe those standard have been lowered being subjected to the goalie carousels down there with the Panthers and Lightning.

Wingman77 05-09-2013 08:31 PM

Paul Martin threw the first hit of his career tonight on Matt Martin which led to the roughing call on Matt which led to the 4th goal

EliasFTW 05-09-2013 08:32 PM

What drives a player to say that. you never know who you are going to play for.

its a shame mtl is gonna lose. i love their goal lights.

I still can't get over how Bergevin killed Feaster for the Wideman contract (which is bad) but then went out and then gave Prust his deal.

Traitor Zach 05-09-2013 08:35 PM

Classless Subban strikes again and takes a dumb penalty.

Boy did the Canadiens look horrible in this series. I know they had some injuries, but still, what a bad showing.

Wouldn't stun me if they went out and missed the playoffs next year.

The Lightning don't even have a defense, and the Panthers don't have much of one either. This is why the Lightning keep going out trading for goalies when idiot Stevie Y refuses to upgrade his defense years after year. Which is why next year will be his last.

Come on man I watch more teams than the Panthers, and Lightning. I only watch the Lightning as much as I do cause my buddies are fans and come over to watch them.

AfroThunder396 05-09-2013 08:41 PM

Don't know if I've ever seen a playoff meltdown as bad as this Habs team.

VaxjoDevil 05-09-2013 08:47 PM

Habs fans still cheering their team in a good bye. That is some classy fans, after that shellacking.

Flyers last year against us?

They just might have missed the playoffs had this been an 82 game season. Overrated garbage team. At least they got their French speaking coach they were looking for.
