As for the Leafs-Bruins game. Great game and even better ending. :) Couldn't have happened to a better team and fanbase.

For all the crap they dish out from the centre of the universe in TO... Karma is a *****. :)

It was an exciting game though. Experience+Luck+Determination... gives hope to any team that you never quit and never give up and you never know what can happen.

What a disgraceful display of hockey by that club tonight. People are talking about the Leafs choking, and rightly so, but man the Caps are just a terrible playoff team. Among the worst of all time imo.

Props to you for being the only guy in this thread who was dancing on the Bruins grave two pages back to step up and admit how wrong you were.

I just don't see any way McPhee isn't fired. Ovy played out of his mind this season, and the team gets bounced in the 1st round. So far he hasn't made the most out of having one of the most talented players in the NHL. Considering they are losing their cakewalk division next year, there needs to be changes for that franchise.

You gotta think some major moves will be made in Washington. They crawled back into a playoff spot after a crap start in the regular season, but going out in the 1st round and especially with this crappy performance in Game 7... that has to be a team in need of some new blood.

Queue up all the Gagner/Hemsky to Wash for Brouwer/Laich proposals once again.

1127 NHL games over twenty plus seasons.
1209 points. The man had talent.

As for the twitter stuff .... its twitter , what do you expect?
His atrocious spelling and grammar aside, his remarks seem pretty tame to me.

Washington needs a major shake up.It's doesn't seem like the Washington Capitals will ever be able to ''get the job done''.

Epic COLLECTIVE choke job by the Leafs. The Toronto media had better not pin this on Reimer either.

dnicks17 05-13-2013 10:22 PM

 Anyone catch the odd handshake between Lucic and Phaneuf?

Seguin was a complete no show. He's really lucky he plays on the Bruins or he would be labeled as a playoff choker.

GreatKeith 05-13-2013 10:25 PM

@harpoon

I know hockey isn't over till it's over... But a three goal lead with a half period left should be safe.

Perfect_Drug 05-13-2013 10:32 PM

I feel sorry for the Caps.

Always running into a hot goalie putting on a clinic.

Yep, Reimer is the last one to blame. I already see Leafs fans with the "Rebound Reimer" nonsense. Give me a break. He was their best player in this series.
The defense completely collapsed in the last minute and a half and OT. Phaneuf in particular was a bum and Gardiner (who was good for the most part) passed it right to Bergeron on the GWG. Of course, Reimer will get scapegoated though.
The Leafs competed hard though. They did a lot better than i thought they would against the Bruins so they deserve credit for a good series.

The Caps, on the other hand, are a complete joke. One of the worst playoff teams of all time, what are they like, 2-9 in Game 7's now and i think they are like 1-6 at home with a bunch of those coming in the Ovy generation. What a pathetic bunch.

I'm calling it right now watch the pens sens series its going to be sick

Loved that Boston Toronto game. Loved it! I'm done now. Summer has started for me.

Vancouver out. Toronto out. Minny out. Ducks out.

:)

That was just a comedy of errors when you see the behind the net view on the NHL.com website. Grabovski had the puck come right to him and as he turned to go up ice, Seguin somehow got a skate on it and put it back towards the net (which somehow explains the assist). Franson & Gardiner then seemed to be each going for it after Reimer was unable to corral it and Gardiner just threw it out to the circle without looking.

Now Miss Reimer can roll her eyes and make catty face all summer and we don't have to hear about it every 5minutes.

My gawd the levels of stupid the whole country gets inundated with just because it involves the center of the universe.

The Gretzky column in the Toronto SUN was the worst.

"BREAKING NEWS! GRETZKY SAYS THAT LEAFS HAVE WHAT IT TAKES!"

Give me a break.

Yup. Now that the Senators have committed to Vokoun it's not going to be close. I can't wait to see Melnyk cry some more.

GreatKeith 05-13-2013 11:08 PM

The Bruins did the entire country a favour for the 2nd time in three years. Can you imagine the media lovefest if the Leafs managed to win? We would never hear the end of it.

While it's still entirely possible that we might not hear the end of it, it's certainly much more bearable.

Schadenfreude baby.

Groucho 05-13-2013 11:09 PM

Gotta love that. Wow. Bruins could charge all the way back to the cup off the momentum of that win.

Moonlapse Vertigo 05-13-2013 11:14 PM

For some reason Leafs fans are finding solace in mocking Edmonton, the Oilers and Oilers fans tonight (on Twitter). I'd like to be holier than thou about it but the fervor was probably brought on by Oilers fans taking pleasure in the Leafs' loss.

They still haven't won a playoff series since 2004.

Maybe... a miracoulous come back doesn't mask that Toronto took them to 7 games and vastly outplayed them for some significant portions.

The Bruins tonight are the luckiest team in the league that they escaped this round. In all honesty they didn't deserve it. I think they can beat the Rangers though... The Pens will be tough.

Why can't anyone just mock Florida?

Our team has drawn too much attention to itself. Nobody pays attention to the Panthers. The Oilers are the most relevant "bad" team in the history of this league.

Woot for being relevant.

I could see the Rangers riding Lundquist all the way to the Cup this year. He's playing out of his mind right now, kind of like Quick was last year.
