After watching the Scotland u19's get beat 7-0 from England u19's I was wondering how many good scottish players are turning up now?
Jordan Cownie is the best Scottish prospect right now http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=177453
There are also a few others who made the GB U18 team
James Wallace http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=177452
Craig Moore http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=177507
Jordan Crowe http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=206277
One problem the Scottish players seem to face is that there is no middle ground for them between the EIHL and the SNL. In the past years a few guys have made the GB junior teams then amounted to nothing because they either sit on the bench in the EIHL or play in the low standard SNL and don't really get anywhere. Whereas in England the EPIHL provides a good middle ground and even the NIHL divison 1 is better than the SNL. With Solway in the NIHL now things could improve.
England always beat them easily in the U19 game for the simple reason there is a larger pool of players. They should combine Wales and Scotland to make it more competitive.
