NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

To play this well in such an important game is going to definitely help us moving forward.
You have to believe that you can do it. You can’t question anything and you can’t think too much about things you can’t control.
It’s about going out and taking care of business and doing the things you talk about and we did and it paid off big time.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We got better results and there was a different feel. As a team, we started to find our forecheck in Game 6.
It was a couple of things that we added to our forecheck that are continuing to work.
In Games 6 and 7, it was a big part of our success.
- Derek Stepan

We have a good group and we stay with it. It’s a group that totally understands just taking it one day at a time.
Down, 2-0, I just didn’t think we were that far off. I think a number of people felt down 2-0 you’re not going to get this done and it is a tall hill to climb.
We just went about our business, tried to take it onee day at a time and Henrik was obviously fantastic through the series and we found a way.
We got some momentum, winning three out of four going into this game and we felt good about it.
- John Tortorella

We got this!

Riverdale 05-16-2013 01:00 AM

Actually feeling pretty confident for this one.

LGR!!

Aufheben 05-16-2013 01:00 AM

Too excited, can't sleep.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray Brassard my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray Brassard my soul to take.

LGR!!! Time for Nash to get some goals.

Do we get Doc? That really sucks if we do, really, really sucks.

McNashty 05-16-2013 01:09 AM

You just have to figure we're gonna get them. Doc, Dumbass, and Thumb Head

17futurecap 05-16-2013 01:12 AM

Here we go, LGR!

Still stressful, but nice to play a non elimination game.

Olczyk.

I've always had an unexplained hatred for the guy. Don't know why :dunno:

at least it is not Chico calling the games. he would find a way to mention Brodeur during a game he's not even playing in...

Bob Richards 05-16-2013 01:25 AM

Other than being unable to buy a vowel, Eddie Olczyk just hates us.

I Eat Crow 05-16-2013 01:46 AM

Not going to get too worked up over this one. Measuring stick game for both teams. I expect from game 2 on to be an absolute war though. Would be nice to take one in Boston with the way we've been playing at home.

Greg02 05-16-2013 01:58 AM

Is that really their defense?

Have to take advantage.

SoftEuro4thLiner 05-16-2013 02:03 AM

They're likely playing three rookies on defense. Gotta capitalize on that. Make them insecure. Take a 1-0 lead in the series. Let's Go Rangers!

SoftEuro4thLiner 05-16-2013 02:05 AM

also, this will prove how deep our defense really is. They have 3 very balanced, capable lines and a 4th line that will provide simple, gritty play and the occasional goal. Can't allow them to get the puck deep.

FromTheSide 05-16-2013 02:50 AM

Hopefully even richards and co can abuse that horrible 3rd defense pairing they have...

skymachine 05-16-2013 02:56 AM

How sweet would it be to steal this one on the road and go up 1-0....LGR!

mike14 05-16-2013 03:39 AM

2nd round? How the hell did we get here.

Gotta take it up to the Bruins, time for Cally, Step, Nash and Richards to really come to the party.

Callagraves 05-16-2013 04:15 AM

It's so nice to be playing in a non-elimination game again.

I'm more excited than nervous. I love Boston games. Hopefully Lucic doesn't do that elbowing thing he likes to do.

EasyKreider NYR 05-16-2013 04:16 AM

Haven't been able to sleep all night.

Let's Go Rangers :handclap::handclap::handclap:

Rangers Fail 05-16-2013 05:50 AM

Feel pretty good about this one.

Dump it into Hamilton's corner and please take advantage of that defense.

Hopefully Lucic isn't in full goon mode.

Nash scores twice.
