lets do it, USA! need a big game from Gibson here.

FinRuutu 05-19-2013 08:20 AM

Finland could win this if they have any hunger left.. which I think they do because they have 13 first timers.

But if you ask me, I would rather see Swiss win the gold than Finland win the bronze, hopefully both happen.

Killerinstinct 05-19-2013 08:21 AM

With our roster bronze would be nice afterall. Go Finland!

Jonimaus 05-19-2013 09:28 AM

2-0.

Why are they playing in Sweden by the way? Was it pre-decided or something? :dunno: Makes little sense to me.

Didn't look like it in the first.

CDeeps 05-19-2013 09:29 AM

Nice opening period for the US. I expect the Finns to come out firing in the second.

Caz 05-19-2013 09:30 AM

Our team sucks big time.
Where's the pride, where's the honor?
Shame, shame, shame on us.
USA is doing all the good stuff.

The commentator just said "luckily we have 40 mins left"
but imo if there's not a big change in attitude, it's a pity
there's that much left.

William H Bonney 05-19-2013 09:30 AM

Good first period by Team USA. A few sloppy turnovers but they did well to recover on those. They've already showed more intensity today than they did against the Swiss so that's good.

Blunder 05-19-2013 09:31 AM

Weaknesses of this team really started to show in these final games.

USA deserves the bronze more than us.

They seem to lack motivation.. but I hope you are right. I dont know if bronze matters or not, but when you are playing hockey game you should always be wanting to win, even if it's friendly game..

Lethargic 05-19-2013 09:33 AM

Good game so far.

Howboutthempanthers 05-19-2013 09:33 AM

This would have been nice to see USA come out like this yesterday, but give the Swiss some credit there.

We aren't as good team as Switzerland this year.. Lots of credit for them yeah, but good play by USA so far. Also little lazyness by Finland this far.

Gemini 05-19-2013 09:45 AM

The American kids have much more pure talent than this Finnish bunch. Of course that alone won't give you a medal.

smi 05-19-2013 09:47 AM

New lines for Finland: Pesonen-Kontiola-Savinainen, Salminen-Koskiranta-Aaltonen

Hockeyfrilla 05-19-2013 09:53 AM

Wonder if Aaltonen can play in NHL? Always liked his skill.

ElHefe 05-19-2013 09:53 AM

How many snipers there are in Finland's team? None.
How many blueliners with a world class shot? None.
How much goal scoring skill there is? Well not much.

This being said, USA deserves the medal.

There is none, USA has better and hungrier. Our players look tired and unmotivated but this 2nd period has been better.

Just need one lucky bounce and we're back in it :yo:

What a pathetic attempt to flame.

Solid defending would be nice also, but I guess it's too complicated.

Fin9* 05-19-2013 09:57 AM

Hytönen couldnt even score from a Vietnamese massauser

Aaltonen is the perfect epitome of a player who's not good enough for top-6 and not gritty enough for bottom-6 in the NHL.

Freudian 05-19-2013 09:57 AM

Finland seem a little passive, allowing USA to play their style.
