Challenges for Bergevin

Though I am certainly not a fan of the team, there are obviously a ton of questions about just what happened. I'm skeptical of Price and think he's a big culprit for the loss but I don't watch enough of the Habs to fairly say.

As for the forwards, Jeff Halpern could be traded and said that he’ll sign with the first team that calls him, although he would like to stay in Montreal.
He's a UFA, he won't be traded...

Yeah read it and I was like I've seen enough thanks

That article is time I can't ever get back.

Bergevin's challenges are :

1) he's got a mobile but small defense group, good for an 82 game schedule but not made for grinding self sacrificing playoff hockey. Too many lovers not enough fighters.

2) the loss of Ryder was undoubtedly part of Bergevin's plan, but he needs to find a replacement for that production internally or on the cheap through trade.

3) His goaltender is not a playoff warrior, and he needs to have one if not both eyes on that dossier.

If he can tackle one of these issues thoroughly he will be ok, if he tackles all 3 then he truly deserves GM of the year.

I kept going...

One player who almost certainly won’t return to Montreal is right-winger Michael Ryder. He had 21 points in 27 games with the Canadiens and although Bergevin would probably like to keep him, he will be an unrestricted free agent. He is sure to be a very popular choice in the free-agent market and the Canadiens probably won’t be able to match other offers he receives.
Again, that's not true. The Canadiens have the cap space to grossly overpay Ryder if they wish and could, in all likelihood, match the offers he receives. Not being able to afford him =/= choosing not to pay him beyond a certain point.

Look, I used to have my own blog for a few years, and if it taught me anything it's that if your facts aren't 100% straight, your credibility is gone and very difficult to get back.

Just my own advice for this writer. Get it right or don't write it at all.

Is this a joke?

This thread is going nowhere fast.

OP, consider this a mercy kill.
