Timmo re-upped for a year if I'm correct, so he'll still be around.

#isles have dealt Mark Streit's rights to the Flyers for a 2014 4th round pick.

Roo Mad Bro 06-12-2013 12:26 PM

4th rounder in 2014.

Holmgren says they're (obviously) trying to sign him to a new deal.

Well here's a PMD they needed.

Siludin 06-12-2013 12:26 PM

Looks like the Flyers got their d-man. Can they manage him under the cap?

Not anyone major,. but does break news everyone so often. Seems to be Vancouver based.

penguins2946* 06-12-2013 12:26 PM

How do they expect to fit him in? They're already $2.5 million over the cap. Amnesty Bryz and Pronger? Idk how else they would do it.

Insulin 06-12-2013 12:27 PM

****. This will get ugly if we're actually willing to give him anything close to what he wants.

Top 6 Spaling 06-12-2013 12:27 PM

2014? And is it conditional?

kasper11 06-12-2013 12:27 PM

I like the Isles getting a 4th, but sending him to a division rival seems like a risky move. Unless they think he is done and want to watch the Flyers overpay. Then it would be win-win for the Isles.

Pronger can go on LTIR, so he's not an issue. Briere and Bryz will probably be bought out.

I don't think Philly is going to be in cap trouble.

FanHabtic 06-12-2013 12:27 PM

I hope they lock up old man Streit to huge salary and long term!!!!!haha

tucker3434 06-12-2013 12:27 PM

That's fair, but how can the flyers afford him/why would they want to?

Doesn't say, so I assume it's 4th regardless if he signs, or not.

Amnesty Briere and/or Bryzgalov. Pronger can't be bought out but he can be LTIR'd.

BrianBoyle 06-12-2013 12:28 PM

I'll heartily laugh if he gets anything more than $4M. Would be a typical Holmgren move.

Good offensive player, but his legs are gone and he's more of a 3rd pairing defenseman at this point more than anything. Still a good passer, good shot, smart offensively.

Duffman955 06-12-2013 12:28 PM

Dam the flyers have next to no cap space.

If Streit is signed to 5.5mil, I expect philly to make another move very quickly.

Jack de la Hoya 06-12-2013 12:28 PM

Honestly,

1) Buyout Briere or Bryzgalov
2) Sign Streit with (some of) the money from #1
3) Keep Couturier and Schenn.

I can live with that.

Pronger will go on LTIR when the season starts, that is why he hasn't retired yet so his contract won't hurt the team.

Bryz will be amnestied and probably Briere as well.

Pronger to the LTIR (4.9), Amnesty Briere (6.5), possibly Bryz (5.6). Also possibly moving Mez (4.0).

They have plenty of space.

PWJunior 06-12-2013 12:28 PM

And there we go. Didn't expect Philly to trade for Streit's rights. 4th rounder.

Roo Mad Bro 06-12-2013 12:28 PM

I'm very scared to see his contract if he's signed.

But he fits such a huge need on the team. A player who can actually move the puck up the ice to the forwards.

Pair him with one of the many shutdown guys the Flyers have and I'll be happy.

KeziaTML 06-12-2013 12:29 PM

Shane Harper also going to the Isles
