St. Louis - Anaheim

Anaheim

LW Bobby Ryan
2nd Round

St.Louis

RW Chris Stewart
RW/C T.J Oshie

I honesty enjoy both Oshie and Stewart playstyle and would think they would do great in the Anaheim lineup. The salary aren't that bad to where both teams will have issue staying under the cap. Would Anaheim need to add?

Falco Lombardi 06-19-2013 01:54 PM

I wouldn't add Oshie to this deal.

I would try something around Stewart + for Ryan

Daley Tarasenkshow 06-19-2013 01:54 PM

As a blues fan, I'd pass. Oshie seems to fit Hitchcock's system and furthermore the blues need a center more than a winger. Also, trading 2 players for 1 only hurts our depth. No need for this.

With the prospect/young players Anaheim has I'm sure we can add something to work this deal out. Either way is the value okay?

Blues won't be trading Oshie and just so you know, Oshie wouldn't fill your need at center anyway.

HooliganX2 06-19-2013 02:00 PM

No from the Blues. Just no point. While I agree Ryan is the best player in the trade and would give up Stewart plus for him the plus is not another top 6 player.

The blues really have no need for prospects either. If stewart or oshie or perron are going to be traded, they are either going to be packaged up with picks and prospects for a top center, or traded straight for a center.

The blues have no reason to trade one of them for a prospect.

Just One Cup 06-19-2013 03:18 PM

Blues only need is a top center, no point in trading 2 of our top 6 wingers without filling that need.

Chojin 06-19-2013 03:20 PM

Blues get ruined in this deal. If the Blues had Getzlaf setting up Stewart or Oshie, they'd have numbers like Ryan too.

Well, if the Blues find they cannot acquire their top center, or believe they will acquire him in FA (Stasny next year I suppose *shrug*) then I can see the Blues dealing from depth to acquire a player who is far better.

That said, Ryan is not enough better than either Stewart or Oshie to necessitate involving both in the deal. Oshie/Stewart + Rattie/Jaskin I could see.
Not sure I would be overly enthused about it considering the possible salary cap ramifications, but I could see it and not be aggravated at the management.

Exchange Oshie for Polak

What is Anaheim adding?

Problem is while the Blues do have 3 very good defensemen on the right side, they have nothing beyond that. Their Polak replacement is at least a year away and unless they feel Cole can step in (I have my doubts) on his off-side that leaves a sizable hole.

Otherwise I would agree that would be a fair deal.

Vladys Gumption 06-19-2013 05:43 PM

Stewart and Oshie for Ryan? Seriously? No way in hell.

Ryan for Oshie and a 3rd has been discussed before. I would be more willing to do that.

This is the one, provided the Blues make a couple separate deals.

Oshie is a 26 year old who's never scored 20 goals. Ryan is a 26 year old who scored 30+ in 4 straight seasons. There's nothing fair at all about adding a 3rd to Oshie.

diehardbluesfan 06-20-2013 03:49 PM

I would do Stewart & second rounder for Ryan, but no way of Stewart and Oshie for Ryan. That's a pretty bad trade for the Blues IMO.

Tecumseh 06-20-2013 03:55 PM

One thing's for sure. St. Louis is a better trading partner than Philadelphia. I'd rather want Shattenkirk instead of Stewart or Oshie.

heusy_79 06-20-2013 04:19 PM

Ryan+Sbisa for Shattenkirk+Perron+83rd overall?
