Right, after development Camp you get some players trying to get invited to training camp.

From the guys that have been announced as buyouts so far, I doubt you see many that are doing the "invites to training camp" thing. Most of these guys will be signed as UFAs on July 5th (Lecavalier, Briere) I would bet or headed over to the KHL/Europe to cash in (Bryz).

Though I am curious to see if we get any undrafted guys getting invites or possibly future draftees as invites (though we're not a likely team for future draftees to come to). Last yr didnt we invite the 2 goalies to our development camp and that led to us signing Houser?

drwmike 06-27-2013 04:14 PM

That is how Houser was signed.

Hoping Barkov will attend, I wonder how far off he is with his shoulder?

One month about and he will fly back to Finland now but comes back to the Development Camp.

It would be nice to have him there, but I'd rather see him make sure his shoulder is 100% for the real camp. I have no doubt our veterans / prospects will welcome him into the group.

you also got to keep in minda ll the off-ice stuff and bounding it is at the development camps

he's going to be there, healthy shoulder or not IMO

mikko1995 07-01-2013 11:25 AM

Barkov said in an interview that he will attend the Camp, and will be skating, but won't take part on most of the drills nor the scrimmages, can't shoot and isn't allowed to take any contact.

You would think that he panthers put up the rosters either today or tomorrow, other teams have already done it.

Why on earth is Huberdeau taking part of it?

CoolburnIsGone 07-03-2013 06:07 PM

Looks like only 1 guy who's an invite...and he's a big one RW Daniel Kolenda, 6'4" 230 lbs.

#edit# Oops I was wrong and missed some guys since I didnt scroll down all the way:

C Corey Trivino 6'1" 193
F Tony Turgeon 6'4" 232

Trivino played in the ECHL last yr and both Kolenda & Turgeon were playing in college.

Kyle Rau isn't on the roster. Do the panthers still own his rights?

Yes.

Didn't think Barkov's shoulder was good to go, guess I was wrong.

Because Huberdeau wants every chance he can get on the ice...get used to a guy who will show up for every event he possibly can :)

NCAA kids have to pay their own way to attend camp so maybe he couldn't afford it. Or he is taking summer classes at Minn.

Why not? Didn't he have surgery after our season was over for his hip? Needs to get into game shape early.

I didn't think he was completely healed from his surgery yet.

This. I though he had hip surgery after the season. I didn't think it would heal this fast. Although he could be just attending. Barkov is there but won't be allowed to do more than skating when on ice
