The "Other" Goalie Thread "No More Space Travel" Edition

Alright.

So Bryz is now gone. Who do people think we should go after? Got to really take a long hard look at both what systems these goalies are playing in and how they would fair with our team.

CS 06-25-2013 12:26 PM

Halak, Emery, and Luongo.

In that order.

ahthorne 06-25-2013 12:29 PM

Emery, Halak, Luongo in my opinion. Razer wouldn't cost any assets as a UFA and so I think he'd be a great addition for that reason alone.

Torquenstein 06-25-2013 12:31 PM

Pleas not that nutjob Louongo.

I would love to see Emery, fighting goalies are always fun to watch here:yo:

JackStraw 06-25-2013 12:34 PM

Definitely wouldn't mind seeing Emery back in a Flyers uniform.

Giroux It 06-25-2013 12:35 PM

Emery would be right up the Flyers alley, picking up players after we move on from them and their older. Sounds just like our kind of move.

Thomas 1 year 2 million is my hope

...every time that guy has something to prove, he wins a vezina

Curufinwe 06-25-2013 12:38 PM

A UFA goalie on a one or two year deal, unless Luongo is bought out.

DrinkFightFlyers 06-25-2013 12:45 PM

Thomas Greiss is my pick. Sign him to a three year deal around $1 million. Gives Mason a chance to be the starter and earn another contract. Gives the Flyers a good, young backup for the next few seasons. If Mason can't hang this year, look for a new starter in the offseason.

Either that or go after a legit starter and put Mason on the back-burner.

duffy9748 06-25-2013 12:46 PM

Luongo would be the best goalie to suit up for this team in a long time. It isn't as if he doesn't know how to deal with the media either. Sign me up for him if he is bought out.

Damaged Goods 06-25-2013 12:51 PM

Hoping for Luongo on a reasonable post-buyout contract.

JustJim 06-25-2013 01:05 PM

Emory is my favourite choice. I don't want Luongo or Thomas! Both are head cases, and Luongo's contract is almost as bad as Bryzgalov's.

Luongo's contract won't be an issue if he gets bought out. And all goalies are head cases. I like Emery too and he's settled down a lot but let's not forget that he had to go to the KHL for a "time out".

GoneFullHextall 06-25-2013 01:17 PM

I would take Luongo on a cap friendly hit. he is better then anything on the FA market right now.

sa cyred 06-25-2013 01:18 PM

As long as it isnt Smith.

Danko 06-25-2013 01:23 PM

Edit: Michael Leighton is the correct response. /thread

GingerFetish 06-25-2013 01:27 PM

Flash back to the 2010 offseason...

Mike Smith, Chris Mason, Dan Ellis. The Flyers need to sign one of them...

GingerFetish 06-25-2013 01:39 PM

Sign Chris Mason so we can have Mason/Mason

I think he is more like a really fast Hartnell, meaning that he always falls down for no reason
