Stastny for rights to Bozak and a 2nd?

Anyone?

Avs For Life 06-25-2013 01:41 PM

Holy cow the numbers on that Bryz contract. Dear Avs management...please do not EVER have a contract like that unless we know for sure its the next #99

IKR

I dont understand how a player that is about to be a FA and a 2nd round pick is adequate for a consistent 50 point two way player that would put up soooo much more if he had good wingers.

I think the Avs would start hearing better offers if they signed him to an extension at around 5 mil a year.

InjuredChoker 06-25-2013 01:55 PM

Reports suggest STL and Patrik Berglund on verge of one-year extension for $3.25M.

Bryz or the writer?

FTR I hate Philly and everything about its fans and teams aside from Forsberg when he was there... The fans are tools and if Bryz hated them I understand. The other stuff is interesting though.

Actually both, but i think the writer is a bigger one.

Ill agree with both, the writer may be the bigger idiot but it sort of sounds like Bryz is being a bit of a baby. It sucks to get bought out, I get that, but do an interview and make yourself at least LOOK classy so another team might be interested.

Bryz is a bit of a head case, but I think that Philly market drove him too far mentally.

At this point I don't see how anyone could be a consistent star #1 there. Bryz was great in Anaheim and Phoenix, and was good to start in Philly and then as soon as his play slipped they ate him alive and he never recovered. I don't really blame him for his attitude toward their media.

Pretty much.

He'll be great pretty much anywhere. Philly has to stop attacking their goalies and ripping them apart. If not they'll never get their savior.

Lonewolfe2015 06-25-2013 02:52 PM

Lundqvist could go to Philly and he wouldn't perform. It's terrible here in terms of how quickly fans turn on players, can't imagine what it must be like in Toronto or Montreal. Had a friend that was a huge Richards fan awhile ago, put a C on the jersey when he got it and was ready to pitchfork him out of town when Holmgren moved him.

Going to games wearing anything but a Philly jersey is asking to be hassled, possibly even assaulted. But at least we got cheesesteaks eh?

I went to Pat's when I was there, and it was disgusting.

Overrated. :)

Seriously though I think the hype has come from the late night inebriated, just like every other local greasy food. Even with the wiz.

Then you went to the wrong place, haha.

I think most locals don't even like Gino's and Pat's that much. They're just the oldest spots.

Start penciling in Jones somewhere on our roster...No compliance buyouts will be used

Pretty much expected. Still can use them next summer if Jones is horrible again. I really hope that SOB can be traded.

Jones was terrible but I think if Sakic and Roy thought he couldnt get better they would have bought him out. Maybe he will bounce back...I just would NOT play him with Mack. Mack needs to play with guys that play hard and never take a shift off. Jones on Macks wing would make me uber mad.

This also means that the likelyhood of us bringing in a wing FA is a lot lower, unless we are trading a bunch of players which I suppose could happen.

Eh depends on the other linemate really. If the other linemate is Landeskog, I have less problems with Jones on that line.

I think it should go without saying (around here is doesn't though) that Jones can be a lot better than he was last season. I think he was a player that was really hurt by the lockout and lack of training camp. This was a player that scored 8g in 40 games, 10 g in 23 games, 27g in 77 games, and 20g in 72 games the previous 4 years. If he regains form he is a 20-25g player. Also if he had shot at his normal percentage he would have had ~9 goals in 33 games... we wouldn't be ragging on him for not producing.

That said, this is make or break for him IMO. Have another bad, lazy season and he should be gone.

I think he'll be on this line.

Still don't understand how people thought Jones might've been a candidate for a buyout. O'Brien would have been the only guy worth using it on. Either way I'm ok with us not using one this summer.
