They had to buy out Briere and Bryz. Way to **** the bed, Flyers.

Raccoon Jesus 06-26-2013 11:40 AM

Oh lord, this thread is amazing already

Captain Mittens* 06-26-2013 11:47 AM

I don't blame Homer for the Richards&Carter/ Bryz fiasco. I have a feeling that ownership was pulling the strings on that.

The last image about the next plan of action being throwing... "stuff" up on a wall was a good finisher too before you got censored. :)

And to top it off they think Steve Mason is the answer in net. Hartnell is probably the next long term Flyer to be dealt.

Ollie Weeks 06-26-2013 02:40 PM

Sounds like Boston is going to be letting go of Andrew Ference. He could very well be a cheaper option than Scuderi, depending on how talks progress.

I think they will be picking up another goalie. Halak, smith, Nabakov.

And the goaltender they traded away went on to win the Vezina.

Yes he could be. Has played with Sutter as well. There will be a lot of bidders.

I've been on the Ference train for sometime. He's getting older and may be a downgrade from Scuds but he just fits with the team identity so much.

Bob wins the Vezina

Richards - Carter win the SC

fantastic player evaluation by the PHI front office. they are now the laughing stock of the NHL to me. Homer i think has passed the ineptness that Tambo exhibited in EDM and Sather's decades old circus in NY.

it must be reassuring to know that your boss is a crazy old fool and won't fire you for making huge critical mistakes in your job

actually i think he is pretty equal to Scuds. Ference i think is a stronger skater and plays better along the boards. Scuds plays better in open space and isn't quite as fast on his feet. if we could keep Scuds, sign Ference and trade RR then you've got a very good all around upgrade

markisonfire 06-26-2013 03:14 PM

Who is the better player, Regehr or Greene? Only on-ice ability, not leadership or team chemistry.

Regehr for me.

Vamos Rafa 06-26-2013 03:55 PM

Are they gonna put a billboard at Staples that says "#StayScuds"?

Greener for me ... fairly similar overall, with Greene getting an edge in Skating and foot speed ... and when you ADD in leadership ability & team chemistry he's clearly got the edge of RoaR.

Moses Doughty 06-26-2013 03:58 PM

I'd be fine with Ference if we can't get Scuderi. I love how he plays and would likely cost less than Scuderi. Not to mention he played for Sutter in Calgary

Greene without question. neither are fleet of feet, but head to head Greene is a much quicker and agile skater. Regher was painful to watch at times when he had to make quick turns, stops and changes of direction. both are strong on the boards and when they are tight on manned situations. the issue is that RR had a bigger problem closing the gap against some guys

Yup I said that as well. I believe Sutter had to trade for cap reason when they got Boumeester
