Tyler Myers

After taking two huge D-Men in the top 16, I would imagine that Buffalo will try to move to Myers now.

What are you willing to give for him?

Flyerss 06-30-2013 04:39 PM

just build around those 3 guys, all are young will turn into a great D

nazembiggs* 06-30-2013 04:42 PM

Who?

Selanne00008 06-30-2013 04:58 PM

How about MyErs and E. Kane as the base of a deal?

Not being moved for 500th time

hatterson 06-30-2013 05:04 PM

Given his struggles recently (mostly this year) teams aren't going to be willing to pay what Buffalo needs in order to get rid of him.

I'd be extremely shocked to see him moved.

tsujimoto74 06-30-2013 05:08 PM

Yes, 2 18-year-olds are obviously going to step into the NHL this year and take away all his minutes. We should definitely trade him now while his value is at its lowest rather than giving him a year or 2 with Rolston to see if he bounces back.

Besides, defensive depth is a for suckers, am I right?

Eternal Leaf 06-30-2013 05:11 PM

Why trade him?

Build around all three, it could become one of the most fearsome trio of defencemen in a while.

tucker3434 06-30-2013 05:50 PM

Two defensive prospects certainly don't mean you trade NHL defensemen. Myers may be on the market, but the draft has nothing to do with it.

pyroxen 06-30-2013 05:55 PM

With Sekera gone there is no way Buf can afford to loose Myers

How are they gonna fit all these D-Men under the cap in a few years? And nobody said anything about these guys playing next year. Why are you obsessed with fielding a team next year? The best thing that can realistically happen next year is we bottom out, win the lottery and pick 1st.

Would sure love to have been picking in the top 3 today. If only we had lost 3-4 more games.

Why on earth do you want to give up a 23yo who's shown the ability to be near dominant because of some drafts picks that aren't even on ELCs yet and whose prime money-making years (assuming they pan out) are still 5-7 years away? If Myers bounces back, he's far more valuable than anything anyone is going to offer for him right now. Plain and simple.

Nuke 06-30-2013 06:29 PM

I'm not giving up on him. I've moving him for a young top forward. D is a position of strength now with young players.

Pretty easily, I'd say.

Eh. Our D sucks until it proves otherwise. Those picks don't guarantee us anything.

ZeroPT 06-30-2013 08:21 PM

Give rolston a chance to fix him, let him play to his strengths, hey I would even be on board with moving Stafford for Tallinder+. Myers was great alongside Tallinder and maybe having his D partner for his most successful season will help him bounce back.

Don't see why the jets want myers with the young rh defensemen they have.

Viqsi 06-30-2013 10:07 PM

How in the world does today's drafting of two defensemen make Myers expendable?

I don't get this logic.

Cleatus 06-30-2013 10:09 PM

Jake Gardiner!

Layne Staley 06-30-2013 10:15 PM

Myers is untouchable. He has performed as a #1 dman for pretty much 3 out of his 4 career seasons. People give up on players too easily around here, one bad year wipes out several good ones. I mean prior to this year Myers had a higher career ppg then Subban but the consensus is right Myers has no talent and is useless :sarcasm:

Chainshot 06-30-2013 10:15 PM

They're not trading Myers right now.

Exactly. Down the road? Sure. But not today.

Flyerss 07-01-2013 12:02 AM

Sabres should have picked Fucale with the 2nd round pick

McTank 07-01-2013 12:12 AM

I didnt realize there was a limit on good young defenseman we can have. We are rebuilding, why would we trade someone with as much potential as Myers just because we have other players with high potential. Our contender can consist of myers, zadarov, risto, pysyk, mccabe and mcnabb
