TSN's scouting report:
"Jacob is a powerful player who asserts with his size and physical ability but also with his skill. He is a strong skater with speed and balance. He plays in all defensive situations and he has excellent feel for how to excel in the various tasks of those situations. Can play any forward position and gives a coach a lot of flexibility to allow him to lend support to different players and combinations. He gets offensive opportunities but may not be a natural scorer. Defensively, he can really disrupt the patterns of the opponent and he is dangerous in the counter attack."

Bad: He's not Zykov

Good: More Swedes! More!

In all seriousness, goodish pick.

chaosrevolver 06-30-2013 05:19 PM

I like this pick!

Hope Of Glory 06-30-2013 05:19 PM

Good pick, maybe a bit too soon, but it's still solid.

BrimStone64 06-30-2013 05:19 PM

Bit of suprise here...i know lot of Habs fans didn't care for him.

CN_paladin 06-30-2013 05:20 PM

TSN rated him 2/5 for hands and 4/5 for compete level. :(

McSorleyStick 06-30-2013 05:20 PM

De la Rose de la Sainte Flanelle

Habsfan18 06-30-2013 05:20 PM

Limited offensive upside, so not thrilled. But I'm alright with it. Would love for him to prove me wrong.

Watsatheo 06-30-2013 05:21 PM

Don't hate the pick, seems Habs building up their 2nd/3rd line with size and grit.

Et le But 06-30-2013 05:21 PM

We will be stacked with 3rd liners in a few years.

Myron Gaines* 06-30-2013 05:23 PM

I'm pretty stoked for De La Rose. Many see limited offensive potential, but I think think he'll surprise people. He has very good hands, very good hockey sense and wheels. On top of that, like McCarron, he's a beast along the boards.

AnthonyD 06-30-2013 05:23 PM

Liked McCarron, but dont really like this one......

hogtownhabsfan* 06-30-2013 05:23 PM

Big DLR fan, reminds of Lars Eller.

Whitesnake 06-30-2013 05:24 PM

Not exactly a fan based on who was still available. But great to have size.

Metropolitsky 06-30-2013 05:24 PM

Can't believe we couldn't pick a first line center with size and skill with the 34th pick

CN_paladin 06-30-2013 05:24 PM

6'3 still too small! ;)

We are going for high risk high bust picks so far!

Go big or go home?

Woooooooooooooo!

Who are my fellow posters who've been hyping DLR?

OneSharpMarble 06-30-2013 05:26 PM

This is great, couple years and the habs can run 4 lines made up of 3rd liners.

Myron Gaines* 06-30-2013 05:27 PM

Goodnight sweet Price

Not in HFBoards, but I've been in his bandwagon since last year.

Jee 06-30-2013 05:29 PM

Jere Lethinen type ?

Unless the player is a top 5 pick, everybody on HFboards calls the player a 3rd liner. MaxPac was called a third liner. Gallagher was called AHL fodder.

I bet the guys crying for us to get bigger will be delighted with that!

Jacob is a tall, gangly and rangy forward who likes to play it rough. He spent the entire season playing against men in Sweden’s second highest league (48 total games) and it shows. Great power forward potential and plays with a chip on his shoulder.
do want
