Tyler Seguin

Okay so we had a pipe dream thread about Lecavalier so why not make one about Seguin? We haven't got much else to talk about. What would you trade to get Seguin? Do you think Poile should try?

Cashville 07-03-2013 10:01 AM

I'd love him, but the asking price is going to be significantly more substantial than the Blum/Ellis/Watson type ideas we are all comfortable with. Most B's fans would probably ask for Josi and I couldn't really blame them; I don't think we find a working middle ground.

PFL615 07-03-2013 10:05 AM

I would be willing to give in order to get. Like i said in another thread this is not going to be an expensive trade since one of the reasons the Bruins are shopping Seguin is to free up cap space.

nomorekids 07-03-2013 10:06 AM

I said in the other thread, we don't have the assets. The rumor is they want an elite\blue chip prospect as part of the routine. We don't have one of those, outside of FF9 and now Seth Jones.

You know, every time there is a speculation thread like this the team NEVER gets the player.

PFL615 07-03-2013 10:20 AM

Yep just put him in orange and black or red and white.

Persona5 07-03-2013 10:47 AM

As much as we need a player like this I am not sold on Segiun simply because of the issues with his work ethic and other off-ice issues. I do not see the Predatyors making a move for him at all.

You would have to give up a star prospect, a roster player, and a 1st round pick to even get them to listen. Not worth the risk imo.

Bruins tried to trade him with no takers. I'm sure they were asking for a good return, but nothing like what you just posted.

The asking price is reportedly a blue chip prospect, a roster player and a first in next year's draft. That's what's floating around, at least.

So lets do it then lol. Or maybe we could get expander kane. I don't really think seguin is being shopped after Horton saying he is outta town. But Kane is still being shopped, I wonder what it would take.

Guys like Ellis, budish, Watson, cehlin, aberg, etc can get us more than most would think, add in a first and roster player and BAM!

Predsrule 07-03-2013 11:13 AM

think theyed fall fo the 2 1st and a 2nd thing again ?

None of those names are "blue chip," they're average prospects that every team in the league has at least 3 or 4 of.

Our guys just think that if they put all the garbage in one basket someone will ship a candy back for it!

LOL

Persona5 07-03-2013 11:24 AM

If we could send them Bourque, Watson, and our 1st next year and get him I would be ok with it. Otherwise it wouldn't make snese for us to do.

In a perfect world for us then, Ellis, Aberg, and next year's first? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Be careful, I just said aberg and Ellis and got ripped for it. Apparently every team has abergs and Ellis'. And they are garbage that won't get us anything in a trade. Read up my last post.

Boston was ready to trade the #9 overall pick for Eliis a few years ago. He hasnt fallen so far as to not still be considered a top prospect.

But if word is out that he has "issues" then I dont see anyone(especially us) taking on that monster contract

That was a few years ago! Should've take it!

Now Boston has a few D prospects of their own that they can rely on.

Is there still time to Q Blum or is he off the ship?

In truth, the Preds really have very, very, very little in the way of tradeable assets other than picks and we need our high picks to re-stock. Guys fall into one of 5 buckets:

1. "Core" (Weber, Josi, Rinne, FF, Wilson and Jones. Might as well add Horny since a trade likely would move us down in production. Most would include KK at least for now, although he will be our best chip in 1-3 years if Jones develops).
2. "Unlikely or pointless to move" (Legwand and Fisher. It won't help much to move them and there are reasons to think both are virtual locks to stay).
3. "Unproven" near nhl ready, somewhat blue chip prospects. (They aren't true blue chip and they haven't raised their stock to a proven level. Could have value later... not so much now. Watson, Beck, Smith, Hellberg, Ekholm, Bartley. Also Ellis, our most valuable prospect, to some extent devalued himself last year.)
4. "Dime a dozen" nhl guys. (Bourque, Spaling, the rest of our team).
5. "Dime a dozen" prospects. (All of them other than Jones and FF).

When does HF gonna adjust the conferences and divisions?

Too lazy?

That's sad...

Poile only can build competitor, not a winner.

I asked this on the main board last week and never got a response.
