Mike Erickson
 

It seems Mike Erickson will not be returning to the U this season. Not really surprising to many that follow the Gophers program. He was a reach for sure in the 3rd round but what do the Wild do with him now. Any word on where he ends up? ECHL, AHL, or whatever league that Chorpus Christi is in? Or why bother? It's not like the guys shows any potential other then being a native MN. :rolleyes:

I thought he was going to stay in the USHL for another year, maybe last year was his other year. But i think he will be back with the Gophs next year. Still has a lot of talent. Needs to find his confidence again. Looked really good in a week to week performance when he did play with the Gophs. Pulled a Gino Guyer got better every game, and Erickson is a lot bigger and plays physical. He just looks scared to hit, scared to get hurt again. Lets not write him off yet.

According to one of the local papers(?), he has been released from the Gophers (at his request) and is pursuing other avenues. Which means playing in the ECHL or wherever.

He's playing with Des Moines of the USHL.

He had 30 pts in 28 ganes last year 4 pts in 4 playoff games. Lucia has said that if he wants to return to the gophs he will have a scholarship there for him. He will probally be there next year.

I can't remember which paper had a story about him, but I thought it said that he was playing in the USHL this year and then he wanted to sign a contract. Don't know if that will be possible, no matter how much he rips up the USHL.

A few players have done it. The best known example would be Ruslan Fedotenko.
