Scuderi looking to play in the east.

He just said on TSN that L.A. are still in it but that he's spoken to a couple eastern teams. Says he's going east if he leaves Los Angeles. He turned down a offer from the kings on Tuesday. Where does he land and for how much?

Stats01 07-03-2013 05:41 PM

I would have to think the Leafs are in on him. We need another D-man. Is he a top4 like Nonis wants probably not but he adds depth.

KINGS17 07-03-2013 05:42 PM

Yeah, it looks like he will be heading to the NYI or Flyers maybe.

OrangeZebra 07-03-2013 05:42 PM

Come home to Long Island please.

xECK29x 07-03-2013 05:44 PM

Come home Rob!

orby 07-03-2013 05:45 PM

would love him back on the Pens if Orpik and/or Niskanen could be moved to accomodate him. seems unlikely but i'll always have some sentimentality for The Piece.

Curufinwe 07-03-2013 05:45 PM

I think the only way the Flyers trade Coburn is if Scuderi is his replacement.

Knight of the Realm 07-03-2013 05:48 PM

Hate to see him go but he will be priced out of LAs range. At least Mitchell is projected to return.

Go get a left wing DL.

EdwardBlake 07-03-2013 05:49 PM

Buffalo or Carolina would be my guess.

He would be great partnered with Gardiner. We will see......

As much as I'd love him in Philadelphia, we clearly can't fit him unless we move Meszaros and/or Coburn. Come to think of it...maybe we can trade Coburn for some nice assets (cheap young guys/picks/prospects) and replace him with Scuds.

93gilmour93 07-03-2013 05:50 PM

Anyone know how much the contract offer from the kings was on Tuesday night?

Gulvorn 07-03-2013 05:51 PM

I would have to guess NYI or Canes would make the most sense, but there's always room somehow for the Pens or Flyers to add another player....

For confirmation:

Per Pierre LeBrun, if Rob Scuderi leaves the Kings, he will likely go to the East Coast

Lebowski 07-03-2013 05:52 PM

Would love to have him on the Habs.

I'd imagine it was around 3.5 per. The same amount he made on his previous contract.

He's probably looking for a 5 year 20 million if I had to guess.

Rorschach 07-03-2013 05:55 PM

As much as we want Scuds to stay, it also solves a lot of cap issues if he leaves, especially if Mitchell is really healthy.

After thinking about it all day, I don't think that this puts us in to any star UFA sweepstakes because when Mitchell comes back, his hit will fill that room. If anything we can re-sign the RFA's comfortably and maybe throw a small offer to Penns.

Hurt 07-03-2013 05:55 PM

Well we're not on the COAST but there's a coast along a lake a few minutes from the ACC?

KingsFan7824 07-03-2013 05:55 PM

I would think he's going for the money. Which is cool, because he got a late start in making big NHL money. His first big contract was at 30. This might be his last shot. Plus, winning seems to follow him around, so, wherever he goes, he should be ok.

If the cap wasn't going down, I would think the Kings would do what they could to keep him. But, live by the cap, die by the cap. Scuderi never would've been a King without the cap.

PWJunior 07-03-2013 05:56 PM

Come back home Scuds! You're a Syosset kid, next season might be your last chance before the Isles move to Brooklyn.

BigHabs 07-03-2013 06:01 PM

The exact dman the Habs need and should be after.

Would he sign here who knows, but the Habs need a guy like this.

I think he would sign anywhere as long as the money is right.

Riseonfire 07-03-2013 06:04 PM

Islanders NEED this signing. Add one of the many goalies on the market and call it a day. I would have loved Briere, but Scuds and a goalie would be a very good offseason for the Isles.
