x2? What the heck ?

sens613 07-04-2013 12:06 PM

Not overly surprising , seeing how if he was not on the team they could of used that money to sign vinny , who is a lot more dangerous and who help toronto speed up their rebuild . Real good young core there , just missing a couple veteran pieces.

I think this means they open up the wallet for horton roy or ribs

firstemperor 07-04-2013 12:06 PM

Really unexpected.....I don't think he's worth 5.5 at all, especially on a checking role. But a team in this league is about to get a gift if he signs a second reasonable deal.

@DavidAlter590: The Leafs are buying out Mikhail Grabovski. 2nd compliance buyout.

WOWWWWWWWW

Atomos2 07-04-2013 12:06 PM

Where did you hear this from?

EDIT: Nvmd

Penalty Kill Icing* 07-04-2013 12:06 PM

Unexpected.

Must be very close to deal with Weiss/Bozak.

xexara 07-04-2013 12:06 PM

Damn....

BonkTastic 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

Huh. Well, that's... interesting.

Dude was overpaid, but is still definitely a gamer. He'll get snatched up pretty quickly, IMO.

Badger Mayhew 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

**** this. Nonis, go to hell.

TOG26 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

What a ****** move. Guys been a champ for the leafs and plays his ass off. Had a subpar year but still over the last 3 has produced.

Penalty Kill Icing* 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

Dunno whether he'll be happy or sad:

Mikhail Grabovski's agent says his client gets married tomorrow in Toronto. He'll also be a NHL free agent.

KeslerKrony 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

Perhaps they are making cap room to sign Weiss? Seems a bit risky....

HABS2DCUP 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

Back to Montreal?:sarcasm:

Fogelhund 07-04-2013 12:07 PM

Interesting, and probably a good move with the Cap. It will be interesting to see who Nonis has planned as the other top 6 C. I'm hoping for Couturier or Statsny, not one of the UFA's.

Lilou 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

Sucks. Played his heart out against boston. Just couldn't score. Wish he wasn't leaving.

double happy! Getting married and leaving Toronto!

Raym11 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

means they've reached a deal with one of the available FA's.

I love Grabo he shouldnt have any trouble finding a new team and will probably be around 3.5M/year

If I am the stars I take him for nothing-so what if he is overpaid you have the cash nd he is better than anyone out there including his former teammate Bozak. I suspect Tor has a deal or signing up its sleeve

Stats01 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

Welcome to Toronto Weiss or welcome back Bozak, or hello Ribeiro, or hey Roy!

aemoreira1981 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

This one is unexpected...I expected Komisarek, but not Grabovski.

Amused To Death 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

Centre depth looking good!

SensBrawler 07-04-2013 12:08 PM

Thought they would at least see how next season goes.
