Hank the Paper Tank is back!

sba 07-07-2013 01:22 PM

Invest in Tyler Myers

Zip15 07-07-2013 01:22 PM

Well, this is going to get a lot of people fired up. In both directions. Jame, to the stage.

Brayden McNabb's hold on a roster spot just got all the more tenuous.

Jame 07-07-2013 01:23 PM

Cool

Meichel Kane 07-07-2013 01:24 PM

I like it. Make Myers comfortable again.

Quick scouting report on Riley Boychuk from anyone in the know? Thank you in advance.

Hoping Tallinder can get a better chance to see significant ice time back in Buffalo. He's still playing pretty well, we just had too many defensemen clogging up the roster.

Der Jaeger 07-07-2013 01:24 PM

Fantastic move. Getting Myers back on track is among the most important tasks for next season. Good to see that Regier isn't giving up on Myers, but actually making moves to help him (keeping Rolston, bringing Tallinder back).

Good. Make young players earn it.

Boychuk was barely an ECHL level player. Good trade.

DevilChuk* 07-07-2013 01:25 PM

Enjoy guys.. he's not what he was when he first came over but when he's on his game, you'll recognize him.

Thanks for the cap space! Hopefully this gets Myers going again.

He's a contract. That's about all we can say. He couldn't even crack a middling AHL team's roster last season.

ROR 07-07-2013 01:28 PM

Any effort to wake Myers up is a worthwhile effort. Welcome back, Hank.

I believe Boychuk was last seen in the ECHL.

I'm cool with making McNabb earn ice time.

Tallinder - Myers
Ehrhoff - Pysyk
Weber - McBain
Sulzer
Ruhwedel

Make him beat someone out.

Timbo Slice 07-07-2013 01:29 PM

Words can't describe how much I love this. Cheap help for Myers to get him back on track? Good job, Darcy.

Oh well, can't be too upset about that, I guess.
Hoping Tallinder can do well with you guys again.

Gabrielor 07-07-2013 01:29 PM

Great trade! I haven't pegged Boychuk as a guy that would ever crack our roster. Win-win.

Rowley Birkin 07-07-2013 01:29 PM

Wanted Lydman back, but Tallinder will do nicely.

They needed someone with experience back there, and I also think I underestimated how important having Tallinder back with him could be for Myers' game.

Good move by the club.

Zippster 07-07-2013 01:29 PM

Really? Awesome, now we trade to hold myers hand?
So Tallinder would be like the goat they put in race horses stalls to friend them and make them more comfortable? Coaching staff is supposed to do that. At least we know this move wont hurt our push to 1 as Hank was out of tank when he left here years ago.

SabresFan26 07-07-2013 01:30 PM

Myers has got his partner back although Tallinder is older and less effective

Jame 07-07-2013 01:30 PM

More conpetiton

TehDoak 07-07-2013 01:30 PM

lolololol. Committed to the rebuild!

How many #6/7 d-men do we need? By my count:

Tallinder/Sulzer/McBain. That's a shade under 6 million for 1 likely roster spot and two bench spots.

Maybe a move to stay at the cap floor for impending trade re: Miller/Vanek?

Gabrielor 07-07-2013 01:31 PM

Alright, recollecting myself. What does this mean for the tank though?

Yes, a guy who couldn't regularly crack the top 6 in NJ and was traded for a ECHL player is now a top pairing guy.

Makes perfect sense.
