It's gotta be Leblanc guys! De La Rose before him?

Markowicz 07-08-2013 03:23 PM

I always find it funny how the new guys always seem to rise to the top in these polls, and then by the next season or 2 they end up falling off the map.

So my question is: Are these polls based on potential or which players we believe will actually succeed in the NHL?

Leblanc has 3rd line potential as does De La Rose, only DLR has better skating and is more physical. I wouldn't have DLR this high but he's better than Leblanc

People vote on different things. I vote on their upside coupled with evidence of that upside.

Darren Dietz for me. Add Crisp.

You talking to yourself again?

Leblanc for me

Took Lehkonen. Many risks. He might not grow/ fill out. Or the
concussions might become a problem, or his game might not translate
to the NHL. But if everything works out he could be a first line scorer.

Maybe Thomas could as well, but Lehkonen has about 3 years to
develop before reaching his age. I think that makes him a better bet.

Add Condon. Because we need goalies in the system. Not for all the
terrible puns.

It's the 'flavor of the month' effect, they're the new shiny toys that we can play (or speculate on this case) with. A year into the development people's excitement and expectations wear off and they hype our new group of recently drafted prospects. It's a never ending cycle.

Anyway Christian Thomas for me (again), add Nattinen.

hogtownhabsfan* 07-08-2013 04:08 PM

I went with Thomas but the next 7-8 guys could go down in any order.

Bud2790 07-08-2013 04:09 PM

Thomas. Add Nattinen

NH57 07-08-2013 04:10 PM

Close between Thomas and Leblanc, went with Thomas due to his high upside if he pans out.

Add Crisp.

Shutdown 07-08-2013 04:12 PM

I went with Dietz but it could've been Leblanc.

Add Crisp.

That 07-08-2013 04:13 PM

Dietz again, add Condon.

All-Star 07-08-2013 04:15 PM

LeBlanc for me. I still believe he has the ability to make the team some day...

Sure it's more fun that way. But really the top three would not include
any new additions, if Galchenyuk hadn't disqualified himself by being too good.

Crimson Skorpion 07-08-2013 04:16 PM

Dietz, add Condon.

Markowicz 07-08-2013 04:18 PM

It was a fight between Thomas, Dietz and Nygren for me. Went with Nygren in the end.

Et le But 07-08-2013 04:42 PM

Lehkonen. Add Nattinen.

NewHabsEra* 07-08-2013 04:47 PM

Lekhonen

Stripper 07-08-2013 04:58 PM

Been voting for Lekhonen since the #6 spot. My obvious choice, yet again xD!

its so dumb leblanc should be 5th

KoZed 07-08-2013 05:29 PM

Tough choice at this rank. Lots of players at very different stages in their development.

So trying to put everyone on an equal footing and imagine how they'd compare at the same age, I went with Leblanc because of the promises he showed as a 20-21 yrs old when he got called up in the NHL. He had a pretty big setback year last season, but I can't imagine that all his potential suddenly went away.

PsychoticHab 07-08-2013 05:37 PM

Leblanc, add Crisp.

eddy 07-08-2013 05:40 PM

Lehkonen, add Nattinen.

MXD 07-08-2013 06:02 PM

That's Leblanc's time.

MD thaivuN 07-08-2013 06:22 PM

Lehkonen, add Naatinen
