Leblah

HockeySensible 07-10-2013 04:03 PM

Adam Clendening.

Bubba88 07-10-2013 04:11 PM

I'll stick with Raanta until he wins it. This time I voted for him because Clendening would run away with this poll. Want to even it out a bit :naughty:

ChiGuySez 07-10-2013 04:50 PM

JHayes

Any reason?

Guy is two years older than Morin and Morin just got done with a great season in the AHL. I can see Clendening or Raanta ahead of Morin (maybe) but nobody else.

Cant argue with your choice but its personal preference. I have JHayes, Morin and Clendening basically in the same grouping. He is older than Morin and Clendening but for me JHayes would be the most ready to step in since hes already done that. Possibly the lowest celing of the three but the highest floor. All three are quite different type players. Morin could jump ahead with another strong year. It will be interesting to see what Morin can do if hes not paired with Pirri (if Pirri makes the team). Im not convinced Clendening can play d but it was his first year therefore while his offense is AHL all-star caliber, I still question his defense.

If Im ranking on ceiling alone, then possibly Morin and Clendening. Raanta posted excellent numbers in the FEL and he can make a significant move up in the rankings but playing at Rockford who has one of the worst d in the league will be a challenge.

Good point. He has played and been serviceable in the NHL at a young age. Don't think I'd bump him past Morin but I had definitely forgotten about his NHL experience.

ReLyT 07-10-2013 05:25 PM

I've been voting Clendening since the beginning

Any Colour You Like 07-10-2013 05:53 PM

Clendening for me. Guy's got a great ceiling.

pvr 07-10-2013 07:11 PM

Voted Morin. Like what he brings to the table. A little rough and ready, with a good scoring touch. The Hawks need a forward like that.

Surprised that Clendening isn't getting "Pirried" by some of the posters here, only even more so. Pirri has been downgraded by many over the last two years for a lack of defensive play, while clearly being a plus offensive talent. Clendening is a defenseman who plays like a forward, is a plus offensive talent for his position, but clearly lacks a bit on the defense side, which of course should be his primary responsibility.

Kurtosis 07-10-2013 07:21 PM

Clendening. I like Morin next go-around.

He's got plenty of time to develop that side as well.

Of course. I'm just pointing out the hipocrisy.

Actually, nobody really played defense the last couple of years at Rockford, at least as we've come to expect it on the Hawks. Surprising, given the clear preference for two-way play on the big club. For example, the games I saw this year, all Leddy did was rush the puck. Forwards were left covering for him almost every shift. Terrible.

Hopefully the coaches will implement a clear defensive system in line with the Hawks system, so players can more easily step into the lineup when needed.

Yeah, I really hope the new staff improves that aspect.

For the record I was never one of those who harped on Pirri's defensive ability (or lack thereof).

Clendening

DisgruntledHawkFan 07-10-2013 10:57 PM

Morin here.

Red Mosquito 07-11-2013 11:53 AM

Surprised there is so little support for Hartman.

Blackhawkswincup 07-11-2013 12:15 PM

Clendening

Showed solid potential last year in 1st professional season

ploppsdman 07-11-2013 01:22 PM

If you were up for the calder, your no longer a prospect in the NHLs eyes...
1. Teravanen
2. Johns
3. Morin
4. Pirri
5. Danault
6. Raanta

My guess is they lose Johns.

ReLyT 07-11-2013 02:28 PM

You are no longer a ROOKIE in the NHL eyes. We are dealing with prospects.

We are on HFboards ... so we are using the HF rules for prospects.

This has been covered before, it is what it is...
