Sorry about my last post - I didn't know that the top 1-11 were already chosen.

So I would say that Kos. should be in there at #12. He's had a little more time to refine his game than our younger draft selections. He also had a strong performance last year and could break out this year or next.

I don't like Kulda's upside - I could predict him as a 5/6 Dman at best. I don't imagine he's kept beyond this year except for depth in the A. Kulda is too small and I'm not sure he has the drive to get better. Last year, Kulda fled to the Russian leagues. Enough said,

For me, it really was a toss-up between Lodge and Kosmachuk. Lodge could be one of the major steals of the draft, provided his late season production was reflective of him finding his game.

I like Koz, I just don't know if he's got the same upside as Lodge. I see him projecting more as a bottom 6 energy player.

I was going between Lodge and Kos as well, but I threw my vote in for Kulda because for me I was at the crossing of upside and readiness.

I like Kossy too, but I think he projects similarly to Lipon over the long run.

Kossy is a better scorer.
Lipon is a better passer.

Both look like 3rd liners to me and they both look like annoying buggers to play against.

I am really all over the place at this point.

I voted for Lodge, thought about Kulda and Kossy and Lipon.

Can understand a case for many others.

Rheged 07-12-2013 10:16 AM

Voted Kulda, add JST..

Or if we're thinking that hes likely not going to be Jets rights not much longer add Sutter.

DEANYOUNGBLOOD17 07-12-2013 10:20 AM

Add CORMIER

Speaking of JST... He and Vinny Sap are running out of time.

I wonder if they will even be Jets a month (and 3 days) from now.

Dont understand why Kos gets so much love here, Jimmy Lodge has more upside from what ive read.

Mathmew Purrrr Oh 07-12-2013 02:13 PM

didn't see a 'not Austen Brassard' option so went upside with Lodge

Also far more bust potential.

i always tend to value boom or bust prospects higher than the safe pick. Just my opinion tho

garret9 07-12-2013 03:32 PM

I voted for Lipon... I didn't want to vote for Lipon... :(

I want a mulligan!

EastRiver 07-12-2013 03:33 PM

Kosmachuk.
Add Sutter.

Kosmachuk is fantastic when he's on his game. He is the absolute epitome of a streaky scorer. Last season he would literally go 10 games with points in each and then 10 games with zilch. It was strange. If he could be a little more consistent I'm sure he'd bump up in the rankings.

I voted for him because he has the potential to be a really gritty power forward type who can score.

I think some of his streakiness comes from his relaiance on passers. Tanner Richard and Zack Mitchell have been big contributors to his offensive game. Kossy has a lot of nice elements to his game, but apart from his work on the rush he doesn't create a ton in the offensive zone.

That is my opinion anyways. Long run I see him as a decent complimentary piece and a finisher, but not somebody who will bring a ton of offence to his linemates.

That said, he did seem to grow a little less reliant on his linemates this year. His bull rush, crash, bang offensive game is fun to watch.

Becel 07-12-2013 08:29 PM

add Kasdorf

pcanuck 07-12-2013 08:34 PM

I do like Lodge but he's younger to project (hence, why he was considered the sleeper of the draft). Kos is maybe a year or two away and very likely the goal scorer we drafted. He even plays a like a Jet - 10pts in 10games then zip for another 10!

Holden Caulfield 07-12-2013 09:08 PM

Kulda is easiest choice ever here.

Add Samuels-Thomas.

Channelcat 07-12-2013 09:15 PM

With Redmond about to turn 25 and Kulda being 24, I'm not sure I'd still call them prospects. My pick would be Lodge as well.
