Pick a City (best place to play for FA)

Justin Bourne of the backhand shelf has a fun article that puts you as the free agent in the NHL and you can pick a city to play in, depnding on your status (single vs married) and other things. He rates the cities on varoius factors including the quality of the team and the city.

Well that's nice. Now if only someone would inform the players of that maybe the Kings wouldn't be rejected by every high profile free agent out there. Not complaining since it has worked out pretty well for us lately but... yeah.

New Jersey next to last.

Maybe they ought to follow their NBA counterparts to Brooklyn.

I think one of the best reasons to come to LA is not only for the beach but for how you're treated by the organization. Lombardi will also send players to places that they want to be if there isn't room for them on the team anymore (ie Gagne, Bernier). It's pretty laid back too when it comes to media interference. Seems like a great place to play to me.

This is just one reporters opinion. His office doesn't' even agree with him (see Edmonton).
I wish that LA were that high on FA wish list, but the travel for the team, and even the travel for the player in the city, (most teams practice closer to where they play) ensure that LA is not that high on player lists.
