would you want peter mueller as a 2c option?

what do you all think? I remember watching him in the dub and he had some sick hands.

pros-
good hands
offensive upside
coming off of injuries so his value is fairly low
true center

cons-
risky because of injuries
might not be able to elevate his play
someone may be willing to pay him much more

my buddy is a silvertip season ticket holder and went to an alumni function the other day and was talking to him. Apparently he has been discussing his options with the blackhawks organization.

Would I take a flyer on him? Sure.. but, at the same time, I want to see what some of the kids can do. I've not been one of Pirri's biggest supporters, but at the end of the day, Chicago needs to know if they have an NHL player at this point with Pirri. If he doesn't make the team, that doesn't mean his NHL career/aspirations are over, but the Hawks need to give him a chance to show what he can do.

They need to give Pirri a chance. He has paid his dues.

Depends, obviously if the Blackhawks want to make another trip to the cup. They are going to have to get another good center. Mueller is a great fit for the Blackhawks he has decent size at 6"2 205 pounds. He has the nice two-way style of game. He can put up numbers as well. Last season he put up 17 points in 43 games played.

-They should for sure take a shot at him. I don't think they should pay a lot for him. Maybe a 1 year or 2 year contract worth 1.5-2 million. With the loss of Bolland that takes a pretty big chunk out of the middle slot. Handzus is not getting any younger, His speed just isn't good enough to fill a 2nd line now. Shaw wont fill that 2nd line role, he will be a 3rd-4th liner. So they need Mueller to fill that.

-Down the middle,

Toews
Mueller
Handzus
Shaw

No .

Mueller is not a center. The only time he played center consistently was back when he was in Phoenix and he was not good at it. Add in a history of concussions plus lack luster overall play since his injury and it is an easy no.

This. He took a little over 100 faceoffs last year and was under 45%.

He doesn't play C , Is not very good and has an extensive concussion history

No thanks

Hawks will make a go of it with the kids this season. If as the season wears on & its obvious they need another center, then they will pick up one around the trade deadline.

committedindian86 07-16-2013 10:24 PM

Pirri is the guy

Bubba88 07-17-2013 07:11 AM

Pirri for sure and rather see LeBlanc or even Danault get that chance

ChiGuySez 07-17-2013 08:58 AM

no thanks

No thanks.

hockeydoug 07-17-2013 12:26 PM

No thanks, I don't think he should be a center.
