That is a rough open.

Metropolitan Division!!!

JohnC 07-19-2013 12:21 PM

Ah balls we lost the last game of the season

Hire Sather 07-19-2013 12:21 PM

they couldn't make the start of the season more difficult if they tried.

Seriously, a 9 game road trip to start the season. .. gotta love it! !

Amazing schedule!

We're so lucky!

Ian 07-19-2013 12:24 PM

The month of December is where this team will decide how high in the standings it'll will be.

14 games= 10 home, 4 away

Home:
Jets
Devils
Caps
Preds
Blue Jackets
Flames
Pens
Islanders
Wild
Maple Leafs

Away:
Caps
TBL
Panthers
Sabres

Aside from the one Pens game, that's 13 very winnable games.

Radek27 07-19-2013 12:24 PM

Garden renovation to blame for the 9 game road trip to start the season?

Championship* 07-19-2013 12:25 PM

Dat Name.....

Holy crap is that bad. I mean really, you could find more creative, educated, intelligent people on the street than in the NHL head office.

Lundsanity30 07-19-2013 12:26 PM

9 game road trip.. I'm hopeful for 6-3.. Games against LA, Detroit, StL, and Ana will be the tough ones

I was looking where it evened out and December looks like it's a nice month. If I was a player I would take a 10 game road trip to start if I could be home with my family during the holidays. It also gives a great chance for this team to start to bond right away, I like it.

M Gaz 07-19-2013 12:29 PM

Pacific, Central, Eastern, and Atlantic. Boom. Done. Where's my job NHL?

But our month of December makes up for the frightening start to the season. Those games could really give us a HUGE boost.

Hire Sather 07-19-2013 12:31 PM

Late season trip to the northwest as well. Dont love that timing.

LA and maybe St. Louis will be tough, but the Ducks are overrated. The other games are absolutely winnable.

Championship* 07-19-2013 12:32 PM

Hate to be a jinx but we are due for one against St. Louis.

They are the only NHL team Henrik doesn't have a win against.

KreiMeARiver* 07-19-2013 12:32 PM

Wow, 10 game home stand. Would have liked that spread out a bit more.

And 3 of the teams are probably gonna suck next year. We're better than the Oilers, Avs, and Flames.

Still a trip i'd prefer to be midseason. Those teams aren't as bad at home.

Krampus 07-19-2013 12:36 PM

Oct 19th at MSG West better be covered in blue

Not me. I'd rather play the crappy teams later in the season when they don't have as much to play for and will play their backup more often - not to "throw" games, but not be very upset if they lost.

Teams with nothing to play for can be dangerous. They stay loose, aren't feeling tons of pressure, and feel like they can help make up for a poor season by sticking it to a better team.

iamaranger 07-19-2013 12:49 PM

wonder how they managed to be the away team for both outdoor games

MrEctions 07-19-2013 12:57 PM

Man lengthy road trips and lengthy home stands. Should be intersting to say the least. We need to come out with at least 5 wins of the first 9 on the road, imo.
