@CanadiensMTL:
Alexei Emelin and Andrei Markov have been named on Russia's pre-olympic roster for the 2014 Olympics. Congrats!

MasterDecoy 07-22-2013 01:04 PM

completely expected

AJMHABS 07-22-2013 01:05 PM

Saw it coming, but nonetheless good for them.:handclap:

I think Price makes a real push this year for a spot.

It'll be tough to leave PK off the squad but who knows. After last season there would have to be a pretty crazy excuse to not have him on the team.

Never care about Team Canada but man would it be fun to see PK on that international ice!

Roulin 07-22-2013 01:07 PM

What a group of forwards and defencemen, wow. Great depth there.

No Cam Ward, eh?

DekeLikeYouMeanIt 07-22-2013 01:08 PM

4 locks: Keithbrook, Weber, Petro.

Doughty, Hamhuis and Subban are all legit choices. I'm not mad if he's left off.

PsychoticHab 07-22-2013 01:08 PM

They'll both have a lot of competition so let's hope we get to see them represent Canada at the Olympics.

brunosevigny 07-22-2013 01:10 PM

The forward group is just scary, and the dept at D is special.

Whitesnake 07-22-2013 01:15 PM

Makes no sense for me to not see Benn and see guys like Kunitz or even Marchand be invited ahead of him. Geez, I'd see more Benn than Lucic in that type of hockey. As far as looking at this group, you think that we should do like Bobsleigh and have Canada 1 and Canada 2. Both teams legitimate medal contenders.

sharks9 07-22-2013 01:17 PM

Sens board will explode over Spezza not getting an invite.

Galchenyuk4habs 07-22-2013 01:18 PM

As expected, very happy to see Carey get a shot. Hopefully it helps him boost his confidence. Subban should make the starting line-up no problem.

Completely agree. Benn >>> Kunitz. This kind of decision makes me nervous that Letang will make the team over Subban because he's a Penguin.

I think Subban is a lock, he's gonna be gold in the international rink size ice with his skating.

poetryinmotion 07-22-2013 01:20 PM

Both are locks imo.

Price less so as the starter, but no doubt in my mind he will have a great season next year.

I agree, I always question players ability when they play with the likes of Tavares,Kessel,Crosby,Malkin,Ovechkin. Their stats always get inflated, atleast a little bit. Benn> Kunitz for sure and as far as Lucic is concerned, he was money in the finals for Boston so I could understand that.

BigDaddyLurch 07-22-2013 01:22 PM

Agreed; Kunitz and Marchand being invited over Jamie Benn is an absolute joke...:shakehead

That's actually pretty awesome for him considering there's no Habs member in the coaching staff and management.

I don't know but hopefully Galchenyuk and Pacioretty get a shot :)

(EDIT): Pretty cool that Markov and Emelin get a shot, Emelin has come a long way.

I don't see how MaxPac doesn't get a shot. Galchenyuk? I doubt it.

JayKing 07-22-2013 01:28 PM

Hopefully Emelin is healthy and at 100% by then. I'd love to see him play.

Not trying to hijack the thread but that would be unbelieavable. Here's to hoping he explodes out of the gate and remains fairly consistent, he needs a cup of coffee because Team USA will count on him big time in the future at center.

Galchenyuk4habs 07-22-2013 01:29 PM

Looking at Russia's line-up, seems like the Markov-Emelin duo is probably their best duo for their D. Galchenyuk could get a shot, he deserves it after what he did for them in the WC. I mean it's very early to tell, Galchenyuk could be on his way to a 60 point season...
