Nice!

Shockmaster 07-24-2013 03:45 PM

I hope he plays over Engo.

Waffle Fries 07-24-2013 03:46 PM

The tweet says 600K, but the thread title says 660K.

I'm very happy with 600K. Was expecting around 650K. I like the two year term, too.

Pens Twitter account says 600K as well. the thread title needs to be amended.

Is it a one-way or two-way contract?

I HIGHLY doubt it is a two-way.

Met Bort this summer. Seems like a very likeable guy. Glad we signed him (not just because he's likeable).

Good deal.

NatureBoy 07-24-2013 04:04 PM

Very good, now our coach needs to play him over Engelland! You know what you are going to get from Engo, Bortuzzo still can get better and will with more playing time.

It would be nice if Engo could learn how to play forward, that way he could still bring his fighting ability.

Only one more thing left to do: Trade Niskanen! Everything else will sort itself out at camp.

Even it was a two-way contract he would not clear waivers anyways.

Le Magnifique 66 07-24-2013 04:07 PM

That's great for us. Nice deal

MonsterSurge 07-24-2013 04:08 PM

I think Engelland could play as a forward. He could take Glass' spot and fight more than he does now.

agreed. and having a 7th guy able to play D isn't a bad thing in case of penalties or injuries.

That would be the best scenario, yes. Engo is not a bad skater so I think he could do it. And I doubt that he would do worse than Glass or Zolnierczyk.

Vujtek 07-24-2013 04:12 PM

Great to have Bort under contract.

Now move Niskanen and give him Bort a chance to be a regular D-man for the team. He will become a very solid D-man if given a chance.

It would make the team tougher too. We could put 2-4 fighters in the lineup on a regular basis.

the biggest key is that our main fighter wouldn't put us at nearly as much of a disadvantage when he fights as he does when it puts us at 5 d-men for 5 minutes. Its a lot easier to lose a forward.

That was what I was trying to say! :p: Also, if Bortuzzo or another d man drops the gloves, Engelland could play D while they're in the box.

Thats the point, you are absolutely right! But I have my doubts that Bylsma sees it that way.....:(
