1998 Preseason roster

Does anyone have the game summaries or complete 1998 preseason roster with numbers?

I'm trying to track down which almost a Pred wore #56 before the inaugural regular season began.

I wonder if both pattypred or predsadzy have the programs? But you wanted preseason....I wonder if john glennon has that info? He's on twitter

I missed the obvious.... pete weber is on twitter...

Boy, I know I had a LOT of the old stuff somewhere on my computer, but that was about six or seven computers ago. I'd have to dig, but I wouldn't be sure about finding anything more than the name list.

Sadly, I don't have any memorabilia from that time. I had my early days stuff in a box that was water damaged and I had to throw it away. I hated to because there was a magazine that had a picture of Mike and Logan at a game. Everyone was going crazy because of a goal--except Mike, who was glaring straight ahead looking very annoyed and desperate for a cigarette. That's my guy!

Earliest stuff I have is around 2002 and a very special poster that fell behind my file cabinets at work.

Yep ... nine games. 2-4-3 record. I've found the schedule and scores ... just not the rosters with numbers and game summaries.

Well the 98-99 Media Guide has nobody listed as #56 in the roster where they have assigned numbers. However there is a list of "in the system" prospects without numbers. (With young faces of Timmonen and Vokoun)

Okay, Imma gonna look through the old stuff I got, see if I can find anything.

Found the roster - no number 56, though. :(

EDIT - I do, however, have a list of possibles, from the non-roster players and the draft picks that were listed:

Craig Darby
Brad Smyth
Chris Armstrong
Joel Bouchard (Bouchard and Boughner both wore 6 with their former teams; Bouchard may have had to wear 56 in preseason?)
Marian Cisar
Dave Gosselin
Matt Henderson
Mark Mowers
Ville Peltonen
Petr Sykora (Pardubice)
Rob Valicevic
Jeff Staples
Denis Arkhipov
Martin Beauchesne
Martin Brabek
Craig Brunel
Geoff Koch
Kent Sauer

Bouchard and Peltonen were the only 2 I could find number in the media guide for, wearing 16 and 42

The players I listed didn't have a number next to my roster. I don't have my copy of the THN YB from 98-99, so I can't check to see if there was a #56.

101st - maybe you can, next time you're in the 'Ville, check the Public Library's vaults for the TNan archives in Sept-Oct 1998?

Speedy winger. Saw him when he played in Hartford (AHL) I believe he got NHL time with San Jose and New York.

Mehalko never played an NHL game (in the regular season or playoffs.)

I didn't think he was that caliber of player. He was incredibly streaky in terms of scoring, but had a lot of the intangibles down. Was fun to watch for a season.

Now that I have a copy of the rookie camp roster, the hunt switches to images. Maybe the team will catch on that the rookie camp was the first set of on ice activities and include at least a mention of it during the 15th anniversary festivities.
