So uh Hemsky for Miller?

I know its Eklund and I don't believe this at all but I've always thought Edmonton would be a good spot for Miller and I really don't see this happening but I thought I'd post it here to see others reactions.:)

"Okay, Sabres, if you insist, we'll take Ryan Miller off your hands, we'll even give you Ales Hemsky for him. No, no I insist, you need something in return. Ales is healthy. I don't think he's missed a game in five years now."

Never happen.

smackdaddy 08-04-2013 01:06 PM

There's a reason nobody makes deals with Regier very often.

LEAFMAN99 08-04-2013 01:07 PM

I could see it as feisable, but personally I think Edmonton would need to add some significant +'s to the deal to make it work, despite last season, ryan miller is still a very solid #1 goalie in the NHL.

Reading Eklund is bad for your brain.

I have to admit my opinion of Rotoworld took a hit when I saw them site this story from this source.

Me too.. Next we'll see Aaron Hernandez rumored to be joining the Raiders...

Honestly though, the trade would make sense from everyone's pov except for maybe Miller. At this point in his career he shouldnt have to go "prove" himself to anyone. He can do that right there in Buffalo where he's already done so.

lakai17 08-04-2013 01:22 PM

I like it for Edmonton.

Beville 08-04-2013 01:23 PM

A massive mugging from Edmonton if that was to happen... too bad it won't.

Top 6 Spaling 08-04-2013 01:27 PM

Makes 0 sense. Buffalo would want young players coming back, and Hemsky holds very little value.

duffy9748 08-04-2013 01:28 PM

It is Summer and Eklund needs hits on his website.

Please explain how this trade makes sense from a Buffalo POV?

I'll save you time... It doesn't.

lakai17 08-04-2013 01:38 PM

I like it for both teams, that powerplay in Buffalo gets improved. Buffalo may get LaBarbera in the deal?

Matt Hackett is NHL material today which should also make Miller expendable.

DaStinger 08-04-2013 01:42 PM

Umm a little one sided in Edm favor?

Hurt 08-04-2013 01:43 PM

Do it. I'm tired of Miller going beastmode against us almost every time he faces us.

boredmale 08-04-2013 01:46 PM

It would be interesting to see how much both guys can get at the trade deadline. I am guessing Hemsky's value at the deadline is more then some will believe(although not sure if it's going to be more then Miller despite the lack of a goalie market)

Well it obviously said prospects too.. So they'd get Hemsky who they could move later in the season and prospects. We just dont know who the prospects are. I assume they'd get a pick too.

What other team really makes sense?

I've haven't gone to that site in years but when I did go there regularly I noticed that the bulk of the fans who posted there cheered for either one of the Canadian teams, the Sabres, or the Flyers. And wouldn't cha know it, almost every rumor Eklund posted involved 2 or more of those teams? Golly gee, what an amazing coincidence! :sarcasm:

stakesishigh 08-04-2013 01:56 PM

Unbelievably dumb.

exporta 08-04-2013 01:59 PM

There isn't much of a market for Miller at his cap hit, recent play, a pending UFA and a non-existent goalie market.

The same can be said for Hemsky, though if they make the move and Hemsky has a good season and is healthy - he'd be in higher demand than Miller. Big if's though.

This deal isn't as bad as people are making it out to be, considering Millers displeasure in Buffalo, it may be best to take him out of the lockroom before the season starts.

Perhaps Edm throws in a kicker because Miller fills a bigger need NOW, as Hemsky is more of a gamble.

Dangles McGavin 08-04-2013 02:00 PM

I'm amazed at how little people value Miller these days. Guy is still one of the best goalies in the world. Kind of a baby and occasionally has a crappy attitude, but still an elite talent.

Do Make Say Think 08-04-2013 02:01 PM

Trade an injury-prone but solid offensively second-to-third liner for a starting goaltender?

The hell?!

Seedling 08-04-2013 02:04 PM

Edmonton does that deal every day. There seems to be no market for a guy like Hemsky right now.
