Has Ellis passed Cash

Ellis stays while cash goes. Motivation for Cash, maybe . Has Ellis passed him though. What would Cash bring in a deal? Top talent or more depth that we don't need?

I don't see why that would be the case. Teams make roster cuts for plenty of different reasons. Do you look at Valicevic still being on the roster and then jump to the conclusion that he's moved ahead of Bararuk or whomever else? I don't. Let Ellis play a year of pro and then everyone will have a better sense of his game and his position on the depth chart.

I'd have to say we cant really tell at this point.

Actually Valicevic is ahead of Bararuk. However if Cash is being groomed to replace Tugger this would send me a message if I were Cash only I am not sure what that is

Nope, I don't think so.

The case may be that Dallas just intends to send Ellis straight to Idaho, whose camp opens later than Utah's (which starts tomorrow). Cash is supposed to be in competition to be Utah's starter, so it only makes sense that he be there when the camp opens.

I think we must be talking about depth charts differently. Valicevic is a minor league journeyman that gets a couple of games with the big team on occasion. That's it. If you're talking about a depth chart in terms of an injury call-up, sure Valicevic is ahead of Bararuk. But, if you're talking in terms of where a player stands in the organization (based on potential upside), there's no way Valicevic is ahead of any young prospects. When Hirsch was in Utah last season, I don't believe he was ahead of guys like Bacashihua or Smith outside of an injury call-up role. This is witnessed by Hirsch going to Europe to play this season. Valicevic has no long-term potential in the organization and that is what I thought you were talking about when talking about Bacashihua vs. Ellis.
