lol

"If we wear those uniforms, people will expect us to perform. No deal."

That Habs Fan 08-20-2013 09:25 AM

hahah. that's too bad, I would enjoy it being a rare Torontonian Hab fan.

can't say I'm too surprised though.

Here are my useless drunk thoughts on this ridiculous but enjoyable topic. Ignore at will gentlemen:

1. The TTC staff should not be wearing golf shirts, they should be wearing proper shirt and tie, both male and female. That is what they do in Hong Kong, where I am. So do all government staff. No sloppy cardigans, golf shirts or crap. We pay your salary, now look the part. Golf shirts are not formal enough for service staff, especially Public Service staff. Not Canadian. Not impressed. Hong Kong government staff take pride in their dress, and act accordingly. They were taught well by the English overlords. And they like it.

2. However: I don't blame them on the colour. Toronto is navy blue colours, whites, and some rusty reds for the street cars.It is not Crimson and bright Royal blue, which is french. The 'designer' is an idiot.

3. And more on the 'designer': The design sketch is a ****ing joke. A blurry 'something' in blurry 'outfit'. WTF? Amateur hour. I would think that in Toronto they might actually have a big fashion house or two that could actually draw a human being in uniform. Look at the drawings for Montreal's Olympic uniforms in 76 for god's sake, they were fantastic.

You don't get out much do you? Being a Habs fan in Toronto is definitely not 'rare'. You'd be surprised how many Toronto-born people that are Montreal Canadiens fans.

""We're in a rebuilding process and we in Toronto like to look forward. We like to think about the future and move forward," he said." This is gold!

Yeah there's a lot of us who were born in TO, but are Habs fans.

As for the topic, kind of funny. But you know if the situation was reversed, the transit workers in MTL would do the exact same thing.

NobleSix 08-20-2013 11:59 AM

This is hilarious. What a bunch of grown children.

Kobe Armstrong 08-20-2013 12:09 PM

Can't blame them, what if you had to wear Bruins colors

poetryinmotion 08-20-2013 12:11 PM

Was the 'designer' a Habs fan?

In any case, that's a pretty fugly shirt.

I get out enough not to go about throwing insults on boards.

Yeah I know there are plenty of us, was just a turn of phrase. Sorry yoyo

Son Oncle Jerry 08-20-2013 12:48 PM

Oh, look. Leafs fans think they're someone again.

Analyzer* 08-20-2013 02:45 PM

That shirt is ugly and it's only red and blue.

Habs 4 Life 08-20-2013 02:55 PM

Poor man, the guy must have nightmares of all those Cup winning teams we had over his lifetime

Wouldn't mind a bit, the Bruins have the best colour scheme in hockey.

MasterDecoy 08-20-2013 03:24 PM

haha nice inferiority complex they got going there

Never 08-20-2013 04:12 PM

Aside from being red and blue, they look nothing like Habs jerseys.

Exactly...if you are being paid, just wear your uniform...:shakehead

Agnostic 08-20-2013 04:28 PM

Convenient use of The Rivalry to rouse support for Comrade Kinnear .

It's ugly but a lot of people have to wear ugly uniforms to make a living. Don't bring the Habs into it ****head.

BIitz 08-20-2013 04:32 PM

Haha actually found this funny.

I think they are refusing it due to the culture of the rivalry, which I find to be one of the best in sports. They associate that color with the Habs.

Is that what happens when you kiss a bee?

Habsawce 08-20-2013 05:17 PM

They should just wait till the Leafs make the playoffs again in 10 years and they're all outside the ACC having a party, then have the vote on the colours. No one would care and everyone can go right along living their lives.

Mapleleafers* 08-20-2013 05:20 PM

damn right!
