So nobody is getting injured in these projections?

I based it on no injuries. Too many variables in that case (playing injured, time on the IR etc.)

Razor29 08-26-2013 02:44 PM

Everybody is invincible under the almighty coach Roy.

I just did a rough guideline, everyone should be with in 5g and 5a of these if healthy, an yes I realize I'm pretty optimistic with Stastny and Landeskog.

Interesting that almost every goal amount is even (not that that matters). I also think those numbers are too high. Even with the talent we have, I think the youth still holds us back from the potential to score in top 5 in the league. I'd be happily surprised though...

Don't feel like going into that much detail but here are my scoring leaders:

Duchene (76 Points)
O'Reilly (68 Points)
PA (64 Points)
Mack (56 Points)
Landeskog (53 Points)
*Stastny would be in there but will get traded...

Defense:
Barrie (52 Points)
Johnson (31 Points)

Razor29 08-26-2013 03:02 PM

I'm banking on a very good season.

the_fan 08-26-2013 03:05 PM

Duchene needs to put up PPG or he's a bust

Can't tell if serious...due to previous threads/posts.

On top 83, no one has as big minuses as PAP and Duch. Skinner comes bigger at 84 with -11.

And looking at those numbers in general, seems they think Avs suck 5 on 5.

the_fan 09-04-2013 04:53 PM

Don't be surprised if Mackinnon leads the Avs in scoring next season but only if he's moved up to 2nd line at some point in the season

O'Reilly 55 - Duchene 85 - Parenteau 70

Varlamov (0g0/2a3)
Giguere (0g0/1a0)
Pickard

Totaling 263 goals for, good for a top 5 spot in the league (goals for, not position).

Another prediction I found I made:

Top 15 in scoring, top 15 in goals against.

Point estimates (probably pretty generous):

Radar (60 pts) - Duchene (70 pts) - PAP (70 pts)
Tanguay (50 pts) - Stastny (70 pts) - Landy (65 pts)
McGinn (45 pts) - Mack (55 pts) - Downie (40 pts)
McLeod (15 pts) - Mitchell (20 pts) - Bordy (10 pts)

Wilson (25 pts) - Johnson (30 pts)
Hejda (15 pts) - Barrie (25 pts)
Benoit/Hunwick (15 pts) - Sarich (15 pts)

My predictions from before the seasons, actuals in bold.

All in all, off by 13 goals as per team.

As for closeness (+ over my guess, - under my guess):

Landeskog - bang on, missed 1 game.
Sarich - bang on, missed 28 games.
O'Reilly - off by -1, missed 2 games.
McLeod - off by +1, missed 11 games.
Johnson - off by -1, missed 2 games.
Hejda - off by -1, missed 4 games.
McGinn - off by -3, missed 3 games.
Barrie - off by +4, missed 18 games.
Benoit - off by +8, missed 3 games.
Duchene - off by -8, missed 11 games.
Stastny - off by -8, missed 11 games.
MacKinnon - off by +11, played all games.
Mitchell - off by +13, missed 7 games.
Wilson - off by -14, did not play/missed 54 games.
Parenteau - off by -29, missed 27 games.
Tanguay - off by -36, missed 66 games.

I guess I was optimistic but the season still turned out better than I thought it would.

Pretty close here too. Actual goals for were 250, which was 4th in the league, actual position 3rd ;)
