HF Boards Meetup, Oct. 1, Game-One: PJs or Station des Sports?

Okay guys, we have reservations at both PJs and Station des Sports for the October 1 game, Tuesday night. To be fair to both places, I'd like to vote on a place and cancel the other place far enough in advance.

PJs: 6910 St Jacques St Montreal, QC H4B 1V8 (St-Jacques west of Cavendish).

- Free, ample parking lot. Decent space, decent screens.

Station Des Sports: 2051, rue St-Catherine ouest. Montréal, Québec H3H 1M6 (Ste-Catherine west of Guy).

- Near Metro. Meter parking until 21h usually available. Nicer space and screens.

Menus and prices are about the same.

October 1st they're both going to be packed, but Station is going to be unbearably packed. PJ's will probably have quite a bit more room.

Last time I went to la Station des Sports I got food poisoning lol

Station Des Sports doesn't have a fixed area for a big number of people, unless someone gets there way early and sits at the table with the tap. Also, it's packed when it's not even the first game of the season, in the middle of December on a Wednesday.

If my memory serves correctly, there's metro Atwater about a 5 minute walk from there. Also, if you walk down to Rue St-Denis, then turn left (up towards Sherbrooke street I believe it is) you'll see a small "hidden" metro on some street that starts with a G and it's a long name. I've had to walk a girl there once before. Completely wasted. I was amazed I remembered about it and got back. It's closer than going to Concordia.

Though, it's kinda shady, so you might get mugged. I'm talking at 2 in the morning. Also has parking there, too, but I don't know if it's specific for the metro, or a building close by.

Don't eat their poutine. That's what made me sick one time. The rest of the food is fine.

Stations des sports has never accepted reservations so how would we manage that?

NHLFutureGuy3 09-09-2013 08:23 PM

I will not go because I respect my online relationship with you guys too much

I'm trying to make sense of your story, but it makes none. St-denis is nowhere near atwater. Perhaps you were at the other station des sports, and got lost near de la Gauchetière (the road that starts with G)? You're right you were drunk.

ChoseLa 09-09-2013 09:28 PM

Maybe another place that show the games but don't attract much people?

kalessin 09-09-2013 09:42 PM

OP already said he has a reservation at Station...

I pulled a Joe Pesci and beat the waiter to a pulp until the manager agreed.

"What - does 'HF' sound funny to you, *******?? Laugh at this you ********!!"

He'll also be paying us $2,500 a week starting now. Cash.

Lshap 09-10-2013 07:48 AM

Seriously - they took out their big reservation book and wrote my name. We're booked for 6:30pm, October 1, under "HF", for approx 15-20 people.

Same story with PJs Pub.

Crimson Skorpion 09-10-2013 09:02 AM

Seriously, seriously? Awesome job, Lshap! :handclap:

I'd prefer Station Des Sports, just based off the fact that it's accessible by metro, which is how I am travelling.

PhysicX 09-13-2013 06:48 AM

Bumping this thread back up.

Lshap 09-13-2013 07:54 AM

Lookin' so far like an evening at Le Station. I'm good with that, but let's wait a few more days before confirming.

I'm also assuming that if you voted, you're coming. No wimping out, laziness or last-minute Witness Protection situations accepted as excuses. I reserved for between 15 and 20 people and expect to see at least that many hyper-opinionated, hypersensitive, overly-optimistic, Bergevin-hating, rebuild-loving, Corsi-obsessed, size-fetishist Habs lovers, all there to cheer our team like the passionate idiots we are.

Is it because you're not going to be there?

Most likely

Crimson Skorpion 09-18-2013 09:04 AM

You guys suck. :(

So who's actually going to be there?

I'll be there and I'm assuming everyone who voted will be there. Why would anyone vote for a location and date and not show up? C'mon guys -- don't make me hack into your IP addresses and charge the evening to your credit cards.

Besides, my three female cousins are coming right after their exotic dancing shifts end, and they might need volunteers to help them towel off.

HankyZetts 09-18-2013 04:04 PM

Which station?
