Simon Gagne

ok, this could go absolutely no where and if so just close the thread but Simon Gagne is still available and i read through a post in the trade/free agents section and someone mentioned that his camp wants 2mil/yr...

we have 4.6 in cap, sign Gagne? 1yr @ 2mil? 2yrs @ 2.3mil?

thoughts......

and would we really have to dump someone in order to make one more pick up?

Spaling and Smith are better at hockey now.

I'm not sure who'd I'd replace him with. I'd rather have what we have now.

He's the type character guy that is great in a locker room, but, we really don't have a spot. There's already 15+ forwards competing for 12 nightly spots meaning either Beck or Forsberg is heading to Milwaukee if Poile doesn't make a trade. With Hutton as the backup, the team is sitting at $3.5-4mil in cap space heading into the season (depending which forwards stay up) .... not a lot of room for short term injury callups during the season.

i got you guys. I don't see alot of Gagne.

And I'd rather have Forsberg up, then Beck.

Isn't Forsberg heading back overseas if he doesn't make the big club and if so, he's there for the year?

I don't think that's confirmed either way. He needs to spend at least some time in Milwaukee IMO. Just a month or two like Radulov, Wilson, etc.

I didn't mean it like that. Because of his age, he isn't able to compete in the AHL until he's 19. Oh wait, I think he just turned 19. Nevermind.

He's Euro. Not a CHL product.

Which seems stupid to me. Age is age.

the point isnt that you need to be a certain age to play in the AHL, its that the CHL doesnt want the AHL robbing it of a lot of their players....
