Kings Cap Room
I remember reading something in The Hockey News at the end of last season which summarized how many players were still under contract for each team...The Kings were about in the middle of the pack in terms of team salary...
Now with what we know now about the probable terms of the new agreement, how much money would the kings have to spend this offseason...seems like ppl are always saying that Kings will be in great shape to pick up players, but it seemed like the kings were not much better off than others...
I know i may be jumping the gun a bit here...but i can smell hockey already and cant wait much longer...
From what I can gather:
Those players have contracts for next season. I've seen Klatt as a free agent, but also signed, or maybe even having an option for next season. So I don't know what his story is.
Those are probably the major RFA's.
Of those signed players, there can't be much more than $15 million there. It's not the Boston Bruins, but the Kings will have some cap room.
One question. If the Minimum salary will be $400,000, why do folks still project salaries less than that? My thought is that if a guy was at $400,000 prior to the lockout he stays there even with the 24% roll-back. In other words, the roll-back will be 24% BUT won't be able to take salaries below $400-k...
Some day I'm going to get that up to 11%.
Errors noted and corrected.
GO KINGS GO!!!
