Pominville next contract

What do you think ?

stokes84 09-24-2013 09:31 AM

He should probably get an extension of his current cap hit.

Zman5778 09-24-2013 09:41 AM

5-6 years, $5-6 mil per year.

mkoivu9* 09-24-2013 09:41 AM

That would be a hell of a deal but I just checked and his cap was only 4.5. Not getting my hopes up on that one.

His caphit is 5,3mill and actual salary 5,5.

sabresfan129103 09-24-2013 09:50 AM

I think it depends on how he plays this season. If he puts up 65-70 points then another contract around what he is making now sounds fair. Maybe a little bit of a raise to say $5.5 million a season.

TOGuy14 09-24-2013 09:51 AM

5-5.5M for around 7 years

Clarkson just got 5.2, Pominville has a much better track record and is a better player. He's going to get 6 +.

BloFan4Life 09-24-2013 10:09 AM

Whatever it is, it better be short term. The guy doesn't have many good years left.

tsujimoto74 09-24-2013 10:13 AM

5.5-6.0 would be fair. So if he hits the UFA market, he probably signs somewhere for around 6.7.

mkoivu9* 09-24-2013 10:14 AM

Why?

couture23 09-24-2013 10:47 AM

I would give him 4 years at 6.5M.

Minnesota 09-24-2013 10:54 AM

Anything below 6M for 3-4 years would be perfect.

Probably won't happen, though.

HogtownSabresfan 09-24-2013 11:50 AM

If he stays healthy this year and gets his 60/75 points, even 30 goals, it'll be a big payday. We are talking close to $7 million if he hits free agent status, easily into the $6.5 million plus.

Based on injury history, if Minny makes a decent offer he might sign early. Only reason to is injury risk.

Zajacs Bowl Cut 09-24-2013 11:53 AM

5 years, $32 million

ennisthemenace 09-24-2013 12:15 PM

he should get $20 million over 4 years

therefore, he'll get $31.25 million over 5

CraniumCram 09-24-2013 12:24 PM

>6m with the current market for UFA's. I mean, Clowe for nearly 5, Clarkson for 5.2. He's a superior player to both. And unless he really, really likes Minnesota, there will be a bidding war.

I think if he sticks in Minnesota it will be for around 5.5M per for ~7 years. On the open market the price starts at 7 years 6M per.

Nsjohnson 09-24-2013 01:05 PM

Minnesota signs him next month for 5.7 x5 years.

matt trick 09-24-2013 01:34 PM

Aside from the fact he is a center, it seems Joe Pavelski's 5 yr. 6m per should be a very close comparable. If either hit the market, I would see them approaching 7m.

Nharris31 09-24-2013 02:01 PM

I think we will be hearing about an extension very soon.

Russo hinted that its pretty much done a bit back, Fletcher just wants to see him play in a few games first to ensure he is over his concussion issues.

MagnumForce 09-24-2013 05:59 PM

He will test the free agent market and end up back in Buffalo.

Haha

SupremeNachos 09-24-2013 06:11 PM

From everything I've heard, it sounds like the deal is already pretty much done and the only reason there was some speculation was b/c of Pommers health after that concussion. So I would assume that in the next week someone will pop up about his extension.
