Does anyone know if this game will be blacked out locally on NHLN?

NHL network n the US isn't supposed to be picking up this game. They are supposed to air Pittsburgh-detroit

The Blue Jackets called three players up from the Springfield Falcons for this game: Sean Collins, Jonathan Marchessault and Dalton Smith, giving a strong indication that the club's veterans are going to be rested in time for Thursday's preseason finale against the Carolina Hurricanes at Nationwide Arena. Sergei Bobrovsky, who started the previous two exhibition contests for Columbus, gets the night off and will resume goaltending duties on Thursday.

Love these lines:

@BuffaloSabres: Lines at #Sabres morning skate:Vanek-Hodgson-Stafford. Ott-Ennis-Leino. Girgensons-Grigorenko-Armia. Scott-Larsson-Kaleta. Adam-Porter-Flynn

Hopefully this will be an entertaining game in the skill/competition category. It'll be good to put the goonery of Sunday behind us and move forward.

This game is broadcast on MSG, right? Hockey heaven, anyone? :sarcasm:

Just like the games that were not broadcast, the ones that are, are not the sole responsibility of Pegula, Black, etc...

But at least serial complainers will be silent about the topic tonight.

I like moving Vanek back to the left wing.

I also like separating Myers from Ehrhoff. Myers has been running and gunning in the preseason. Let him do that without having to defer to another ultra-talented D partner. Use that talent on another pairing.

Let's see how Myers-Tallinder do tonight.

It's not Hockey Heaven in NJ. I don't get MSG here.

Let's not act like it's not a valid complaint when every other league shows all their preseason games on TV. Is it the Sabres fault? Not really, but that doesn't make it not something to bemoan.

Yeah, i was being sarcastic there. I am not one of the ones that blames everything on Tpegs or Black.

Just pumped to see the game and in decent quality. Crummy streams don't quite keep my attention, so it'll be nice to actually see and focus on the players' performance.

You don't get a Buffalo Sabres vs. Columbus Blue Jackets game broadcast in NJ!!! What's the woooorld coming to!?!?

MSG you failed again.

Jacob582 09-25-2013 11:04 AM

First thing I thought when I read this was, why is Tallinder playing with both Pysyk and Myers?

Paul Hamilton ‏@pham1717 13m
I think the D pairs may be 10 and Pysyk, Tallinder and 57, 6 and Ristolainen

Valid complaint against league? ... Absolutely! I think all preseason games should be AT LEAST streamed on the teams websites. And at most broadcast on local region TV.

Valid complaint against the Sabres owner and president for failing to broadcast a game? .... No. Those are the obtuse fans and posters I was referring to. Too clueless to get it.

Another game at center for Ennis and Grigs drops down a line.

I don't think Larsson deserves to be on the 4th line....

FearTheBeard 09-25-2013 11:46 AM

More interestingly, Larsson on the 4th line. That's surely no comment on his play, but rather they want to see how he looks there, as if he makes the team, he figures to get some time on such lines.

Yep. It's tough to take too much away from preseason lines. They could be evaluating for different things, such as role, combos, and some guys may be getting rest, etc.

The item to watch will be the re-pairing on defense of Henrik Tallinder and Tyler Myers for the first time since Tallinder returned in a summer trade with New Jersey [...] It's the first time Tallinder and Myers have been reunited in camp, although Rolston said he was most looking to get Pysyk, who is clearly going to be in the opening night lineup, some time on the blueline with Ehrhoff.
http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/...ays-tropp.html

Well, certainly catches my eye. It'll be interesting to see how Myers and Tallinder look, though from what i've heard Myers has looked really good so far. I doubt this is a "Tallinder continues to mentor myers" situation. Based on Rolston's comments, it looks like he wants to see how Pysyk and Ehrhoff look, and how Pysyk handles big minutes.

Wisent42 09-25-2013 02:15 PM

I think dropping Grigorenko to third line is a good idea. Ennis between Leino and Ott could make for a responsible second line that can hold on to the puck, and let Grigorenko lead a third line against possibly some easier competition. I think Grigorenko with Girgensons and Armia is intriguing, although I'd rather give Armia another go with Hodgson and Vanek and let Stafford and his experience backup Grigo and Girgs.

Larsson on a fourth line with Scott and Kaleta is a bit puzzling. Why not Ennis on the wing with Larsson and Ott centering a checking line? But I guess maybe RR wants to spread the tougher guys over the lines a bit. And besides, that's not really a fourth line since he can't put Scott on the ice without risking a fine. :sarcasm:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT WASTE LARSSON's TALENT IN THE REGULAR SEASON BY PUTTING HIM ON THE FOURTH LINE PLEASEEE
