Raphael Diaz

Most underrated player of this team.

Solid defensively, a force offensively. Sign him long term before it's too late.

But seriously, if he is not injured, Diaz could easily get 40-45 points this season (last year 0,6 point/game). What type of contract does this type of 27-28 old defenseman get as a free agent? I think people don't realize how valuable this defenseman is.

Stjonnypopo 10-01-2013 06:56 PM

That was some sick composure on the Eller goal.

Draft 10-01-2013 06:58 PM

He's had a pretty great game both ways so far...

Yozzy 10-01-2013 06:59 PM

Norris?

Norris.

habsprospects 10-01-2013 07:09 PM

Seriously? Because of one period?

Tusk 10-01-2013 07:10 PM

He had a good first period of the first game of the season but there's still a lot more hockey to play.

the vinyl version 10-01-2013 07:11 PM

Easily outmuscled a few times in that period.

Hannibal 10-01-2013 07:12 PM

I don't agree with this thread.

donghabs98 10-01-2013 07:12 PM

Great pass on the eller goal

Not every player is perfect.

He won't win all the physical battles but he'll make some great plays.

Someone feed this kid and put him on a strength program. Good offensively but too small and weak to be efficient defensively.

Agreed.

Rosso Scuderia 10-01-2013 07:16 PM

He's a smart player. Yeah he's not the strongest blablah but that never been his forte anyways. He's very quick to make a pass or a decision. I don't have a problem with him at all.

MDN 10-01-2013 07:16 PM

Will people here finally praise him? A little?

Madevilz 10-01-2013 07:19 PM

1 good game = sign him long term
1 bad game = trade him

Demon Wolf 10-01-2013 07:21 PM

People forget how great he was before his concussion last season. Couldn't quite find his game after returning but I've always liked Diaz. He was good his first year here as well.

The Gal Pals 10-01-2013 07:45 PM

He's Markov's replacement in my opinion. But I don't particularly like seeing he and Markov together. Too physically weak a pair.

Habiton 10-01-2013 07:53 PM

Personally I would rather get assets from him (sell high), groom Beaulieu to take over from Markov when he retires.

Tendresse 10-01-2013 08:10 PM

He's generally dependable, but he's not being at his best so far tonight. Hopefully once the rust shakes up he can take it up a notch.

Madevilz 10-01-2013 08:40 PM

lmao, in b4 the fun begins below
vvvvvv

You were saying?

I see...

PsychoticHab 10-01-2013 09:12 PM

We need a "Where's Waldo?" type game for Diaz for every time he moves to support the offense. Capable of the best but also the worse.

Diaz rarely makes the "big mistake" but people will jump all over the 4th goal and try and use it as the norm. Diaz makes the right decision 95+ percent of the time. He gets a shot blocked and they score...off a lucky bounce off Bouillon blocking a pass...and suddenly everybody on here starts with the see! see! see!

People will try and blame the defense, but the forwards sleepwalked through most of the 3rd.

I'm not saying he did anything wrong really, but looking at a lot of replays he ends up in really strange places. That fourth goal was bad luck for almost everyone (especially Bouillon). My only gripe with him is his "Subbanesque from early last year" fire wildly at the net and miss almost every time giving quick transitions to the opponent.
