I like the move but would have been fine if Klein had it as well. As hard as Horny works he sets a great example for the team!

nomorekids 10-02-2013 12:21 PM

I like it.

wadesworld 10-02-2013 12:49 PM

Well deserved! I like it.

StarvinArvin38 10-02-2013 01:46 PM

leggy on the way out?

triggrman 10-02-2013 01:49 PM

doubt it. I don't think he likes wearing a letter.

Soundgarden 10-02-2013 02:42 PM

Great choice.

I think he just never wanted to be captain.

For how much he talks to the refs he needs a letter

Didnt he wear an A last year or was it marty and fisher, until marty was traded?

Last year it was Erat and Fisher until Erat was traded, then Legwand got it until Fisher was hurt. Then it was Legwand and either Klein or Hornqvist, one of which then got hurt, and it was Legwand and the other of Klein or Hornqvist.

Legwand knows his time is coming to an end ... congratulations Hornqvist

Legwand doesn't want a permanent letter based on past actions. This letter going to Hornqvist does not support your conclusion.

triggrman 10-02-2013 04:05 PM

Erat kept the letter despite asking for a trade, so I wouldn't look too far into Legwand not keeping a letter. He's never kept a letter always a fill in.

Yeah, hasn't this all been hashed out before? Legwand prefers not to wear a letter... like doesn't need the increased expectations on his play, but he can be a leader without the letter, or something along those lines. I know this isn't the first time Legwand not having a letter has been discussed.

This makes me happy. Hornqvist has long been my favorite Pred.

WartracePred 10-02-2013 04:47 PM

It will be interesting to see if Horny complains to the refs as much this season after he's roughed up in front of the opponents crease. Will he tone down his chirping because of the new responsibility?

kypredsfan 10-02-2013 05:05 PM

Well deserved.

TootooTrain 10-02-2013 05:28 PM

Great choice. Lead by example Horny.

Legwand not wanting a letter is typical Legwand... not wanting to take control or true responsibility.

That lacksidasical attitude is evident in his up-and-down effort on the ice, and one the reasons he's had a mediocre career and never really been considered for a permanent 'A' or 'C' from the coaching staff.

No place on a contender for him beyond the 3rd or 4th line at this point in his career.

Honqvist deserves it more, plain and simple.

A letter on one's shirt does not make a person a leader on or off the ice.

But you don't understand. It has to be that way, or Legwand will end up staying here forever, and we can't have that because something something second overall pick.
